Breath of the Wild

Link awakens with no memory. Calamity Ganon has corrupted the Divine Beasts — four mechanical titans built by the ancient Sheikah civilization. Defeating all four weakens Ganon at Hyrule Castle and enables the true ending. The world is yours to explore from the start.

The 4 Divine Beasts

Defeating each Divine Beast weakens Calamity Ganon by 1/8 of his maximum health and grants a unique Champion ability. Each blight boss has 8 hit points. You can tackle them in any order — Vah Medoh first is strongly recommended.

Divine Beast Vah Medoh

Revali (Rito)
Easiest — do first

📍 Rito Village — Tabantha Frontier

How to board: Complete the Rito Village quest. Fly up with Revali's Gale (borrowed) to board from above. Use arrows to destroy the four cannons on Medoh's wings while approaching on the Paraglider.

Terminals: 5 terminals inside. Tilt the beast using the Sheikah Slate to change the floor angle — some terminals require tilting to 45° or 90° for access. The map room shows which terminals remain.

Boss — Windblight Ganon: Windblight Ganon uses a wind cannon that fires a spiraling energy tornado. During phase 1, shoot the eye in his arm. During phase 2, he teleports to a higher platform and creates spinning energy orbs. Shoot each orb with an arrow to destroy them — each orb destroyed staggers him. Then shoot the eye again. 8 arrow hits total.

Champion Ability: Revali's Gale — creates an updraft under Link, allowing him to fly upward. Recharges 3 times before cooldown. Invaluable for climbing tall structures quickly.

Divine Beast Vah Ruta

Mipha (Zora)
Second — Shock Arrows needed

📍 Zora's Domain — Lanayru

How to board: Obtain 20 Shock Arrows (Lynel near Shatterback Point, or buy from Rito shops). Ride King Dorephan's Zora armor into Ruta's waterfall. Use Shock Arrows to hit the four pink orbs on Ruta's back while swimming up the waterfall.

Terminals: 5 terminals. Ruta has a rotating waterwheel — use Cryonis on the ice blocks in the water channels to stop or redirect water flow to certain rooms.

Boss — Waterblight Ganon: Waterblight Ganon attacks with an ice spear that creates ice pillars and sends blade beams. Phase 1: Shoot the eye with arrows while dodging spear throws. Phase 2 (half health): He raises the water level, forcing Link onto small ice platforms. Use Cryonis to create ice blocks as platforms. Shoot the eye while managing your footing. 4 arrow hits each phase.

Champion Ability: Mipha's Grace — if Link is killed, he is automatically revived with extra yellow heart containers (bonus scales with Zora hearts found). Recharges after killing an enemy.

Divine Beast Vah Rudania

Daruk (Goron)
Third — Fireproof Elixirs required

📍 Death Mountain — Eldin

How to board: Buy or brew Fireproof Elixirs (Rito shop or Eldin lizards + monster parts). Escort Yunobo up Death Mountain using cannon fire to break rocks. Board Rudania by timing movement between the sentinels' patrol — sentinels shine a light; if detected, Rudania seals itself.

Terminals: 5 terminals. Rudania walks on a lava field — tilt it to move lizalfos platforms and reach high areas. Bomb Flowers activate cannons for puzzle solutions.

Boss — Fireblight Ganon: Fireblight Ganon throws fire boulders and a slow-moving giant fireball. Phase 1: Shoot the eye with arrows. Phase 2: He surrounds himself with a fire shield that absorbs projectiles. When he inhales to charge a super fire attack, throw a Remote Bomb into his mouth — it stuns him and opens the eye for arrows. 4 arrows each phase.

Champion Ability: Daruk's Protection — automatically blocks 3 incoming attacks per cooldown. The block triggers on Guardian laser hits, making it invaluable against Guardians. Refills after taking hits or using food.

Divine Beast Vah Naboris

Urbosa (Gerudo)
Hardest — do last

📍 Gerudo Desert — Southwest

How to board: Dress as a Gerudo vai to enter Gerudo Town. Complete the Thunder Helm quest by finding Riju. Ride sand seals with Riju's protection toward Naboris while using Shock Arrows to hit the three orbs on its legs during the sandstorm.

Terminals: 5 terminals. Naboris generates electricity — three rotating drums create a circuit. Rotate the drums using terminal switches to complete or break circuits and access rooms.

Boss — Thunderblight Ganon: Thunderblight Ganon is the fastest and most aggressive blight. Phase 1: He teleports rapidly and throws electric blades. Shoot the eye during brief pauses — Urbosa's Fury (from Riju) helps. Phase 2: He attaches to metal columns and electrifies them — throw a Remote Bomb to hit him, or use a metal weapon to conduct the shock back. Shoot the eye again. High damage on all hits — keep health full.

Champion Ability: Urbosa's Fury — charged lightning strike that deals massive damage to all nearby enemies. Recharges after defeating enemies. One of the best damage tools against Lynels.

Calamity Ganon — Final Boss

Phase 1 — Hyrule Castle: Ganon uses attacks borrowed from all 4 Divine Beasts depending on how many you completed. Completing all 4 reduces his health by 50% and removes those attack phases. Attack patterns: Windblight (tornado cannon), Waterblight (ice spear), Fireblight (fire boulders + absorption shield), Thunderblight (teleport blades). Use the respective Champion abilities and their counters against each phase. Weaknesses: Use Champion abilities, Guardian weapons (3× damage), and Ancient arrows if you have them.

Phase 2 — Horseback Battle (Exterior): Zelda frees herself and gives Link the Bow of Light. Ganon transforms into a beast on the Hyrule Field exterior. Ride Epona (or any horse) and shoot glowing orange malice spots on his body with the Bow of Light. Spots appear on his legs, body, and forehead. 4 spots total — the final shot is the headshot. Zelda assists with her power to seal him.
