Ness — Super Smash Bros.
About This Amiibo
Ness from EarthBound as depicted in Super Smash Bros., the bat-wielding boy with psychic powers. TotK has no thematic connection to EarthBound, so Ness drops purely generic food materials — mushrooms, apples, and small beetles. Minimal strategic value compared to Zelda-series amiibo, but contributes to daily food stock for players who cook extensively. Owns more collectible value than game utility.

How to Use This Amiibo
- Open the ability wheel and select the amiibo rune.
- Place the Ness — Super Smash Bros. figure (or NFC card) on the NFC reader on your controller.
- Items will spawn in a treasure chest and scattered on the ground nearby.
- The exclusive reward (None (generic material drops)) appears in the chest. Common drops appear loose.
- Cooldown: 24 hours (real time) before you can scan again.
Tips & Strategy
Primarily drops cooking ingredients with no combat value. Best scanned when your food inventory is depleted before a multi-shrine run or dungeon attempt. Mushrooms and Apples combine easily into Mushroom Skewers (2.5 hearts each) or Apple-and-Shroom stir-fries. Low priority if you own higher-value Zelda-series figures, but worth the 5-second scan if you already own it.
Save-Scumming for Better Drops
- Save your game before scanning the amiibo.
- Scan the amiibo and check the chest.
- If you did not get the desired exclusive reward, reload your save.
- Scan again. Drops are re-rolled each time you load.
- Repeat until you get the None (generic material drops).
