Every enemy type has a weakness. Fire enemies melt with ice, ice enemies with fire. Gibdos are vulnerable to fire and lightning — stock those arrows!

Description

Octopus-like creatures hiding in terrain and spitting rocks as ranged projectiles. Rock Octoroks in Eldin can reforge weapons — approach with a weapon in hand to get it sharpened. Sea Octoroks inhabit coastal waters and spit faster streams. Their Octorok Eyeball drops are used in crafting. Octoroks that swallow shields will refurbish them to full durability — a useful if unorthodox maintenance mechanic.

How to Beat Octorok

Hides in water or ground and shoots rocks. Shield-parry to deflect rocks back. Rock Octoroks in Eldin can be used to repair and refresh weapon modifiers — throw a damaged weapon near one and it will suck it in and spit out a refurbished version.
