Every enemy type has a weakness. Fire enemies melt with ice, ice enemies with fire. Gibdos are vulnerable to fire and lightning — stock those arrows!

Description

The most basic Lizalfos variant, found at low elevations near Hyrule Field rivers and Faron wetlands. Their signature lateral sidestep makes predictable swings miss, but the lunge animation is telegraphed — dodge and counter for easy flurry rushes. Red Lizalfos are excellent early-game sparring partners for practicing the dodge-counter rhythm that defines TotK combat mastery. Wetland variants swim between shoreline ambush points, adding a water-combat dimension to the encounter.

How to Beat Red Lizalfos (Wetland)

The entry-level Lizalfos. They are fast and will sidestep attacks, so wait for them to commit to a lunge before countering. Headshots deal bonus damage. They can leap backward out of melee range — use Ultrahand to toss objects to close the gap.
