Every enemy type has a weakness. Fire enemies melt with ice, ice enemies with fire. Gibdos are vulnerable to fire and lightning — stock those arrows!

Description

A classic Hyrule enemy found in Lanayru Wetlands, Akkala coastline, and Zora Rivers. Surfaces from water, inhales deeply, then fires a high-velocity rock. Shield-parry the rock to deflect it back for an instant kill. Famous for their weapon-repair ability — drop a rusty or worn shield near one during its intake breath and it will inhale, refurbish, and spit it back fully restored. Drops Octorok Tentacle, Eyeball, and the invaluable Octorok Balloon for lifting builds.

How to Beat Water Octorok

Surfaces to inhale, then fires a water rock. Feed it a worn-out rusty shield and they will absorb and spit it back fixed (and polished!). Arrow to the eye is an instant critical. The Octorok Balloon drop is essential for Recall builds and lifting heavy objects.
