Beedle — The Traveling Merchant

Beedle is the cheerful traveling merchant who appears throughout Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom, selling arrows, elixir ingredients, and useful materials. He's recognizable by his large pack, enthusiastic personality, and distinctive hat. Finding Beedle at stables and outposts ensures you always have a supply of arrows and bug materials.

Where to Find Beedle

Beedle appears at every stable in Hyrule. There are 13 stables total, and Beedle can be found standing outside or just inside each one. He does not wander — he's always at a fixed position near the stable entrance.

Best Items to Buy from Beedle

Arrows (priority 1): Always buy arrows when you're low. At 28 Rupees for 10, they're not expensive and running dry mid-combat is painful. Stock up at every stable visit.

Fairies (priority 2): At 100 Rupees each, Fairies provide automatic revival when Link dies. Carry 3 at all times. Beedle and some other merchants sell them — Great Fairy Fountains also grant them as rewards.

Elemental Arrows (situational): Shock Arrows are particularly valuable for Gleeok and Electric Wizzrobe fights. Ice Arrows handle Lizalfos and help with cooking-adjacent puzzle cheese. Fire Arrows melt ice blocks and ignite enemy camps. Buy a stack of each type when starting a new region.

Thunderwing Butterflies: If you don't have Rubber Armor yet, stocking Thunderwing Butterflies lets you craft Shock Resistance elixirs for lightning storms and Electric enemies.

Beedle Rewards

If you buy enough items from Beedle, he rewards Link with bonus items. While not tracked with a progress counter, he occasionally hands out:

  • Hot-Footed Frog (gift after multiple purchases)
  • Courser Bee Honey (gift)
  • Commentary that unlocks Beedle-related side conversations

Beedle also responds to certain player actions — he has unique dialogue when you carry a rare item, when you visit in bad weather, or when you've been to many stables.

Tips

  • Beedle at night: Beedle is available at stables around the clock. He doesn't sleep — find him at any time of day.
  • Arrows first: The fastest path to full arrow inventory is buying from Beedle every time you pass a stable. Don't rely on enemy drops alone.
  • Bug stockpile: Buy bug ingredients in bulk. Having 10+ Thunderwing Butterflies and 10+ Rugged Rhino Beetles means you can always brew combat or weather elixirs on demand.
  • Fairies: Fairies sold by Beedle are cheaper than most other Fairy sources. Always carry at least 3.
  • Teleport and buy: Once you've unlocked all stables, you can fast-travel to the nearest one whenever you need supplies. Beedle is always there.
