Farming Routes Guide — Optimal Loops for Every Resource

Efficient resource gathering in TotK means understanding which locations chain together into fast loops that maximize yield per minute. This guide presents the best farming routes for every major resource category, including Blood Moon reset timing.

Route 1 — Rupee Loop (Eldin Ore)

Time: 12-15 minutes per loop Yield: 800-1,500 Rupees per loop Requirements: Flamebreaker Armor (2 pieces minimum), Cobble Crusher weapon

Loop:

  1. Warp to Eldin Stable (east Eldin Canyon)
  2. Head north along the canyon wall — hit every ore node on both sides (8-12 nodes)
  3. Continue to Death Mountain's south approach — clear crater rim nodes (4-6 nodes)
  4. Fight the Igneo Talus if it has respawned (2-4 Rubies)
  5. Return to Eldin Stable → sell all ore to Beedle
  6. Rest at campfire until Blood Moon OR warp elsewhere and return

Sell breakdown (average loop):

  • Rubies × 3 = 630R
  • Flint × 8 = 40R
  • Amber × 6 = 60R
  • Topaz × 1 = 180R
  • Opal × 2 = 120R Total: ~1,030R average

Route 2 — Sapphire Loop (Frost Talus Chain)

Time: 20 minutes per loop Yield: 4-10 Sapphires (1,040-2,600R) Requirements: Snowquill Armor (2 pieces), Fire Arrows ×20

Loop:

  1. Warp to Rito Village
  2. Fly northeast to Hebra snowfields — hit ore nodes on the Hebra Peak approach (6-8 nodes)
  3. Fight Frost Talus at Coldsnap Hollow (1-3 Sapphires)
  4. Continue north — fight second Frost Talus at Hebra Peak (1-3 Sapphires)
  5. Hit remaining snowfield ore nodes on the return path
  6. Back to Rito Village → sell at Rito shop or Beedle

Key: Fire Arrows melt the Frost Talus ice armor fast — fire 3 at the body before climbing to the ore node.

Route 3 — Monster Parts Loop (Blood Moon Camp Clear)

Time: 15 minutes per Blood Moon cycle Yield: Full monster parts stock per enemy type Requirements: Any combat loadout

Best camp cluster (west Eldin):

  1. Warp to Eldin Stable
  2. Clear the large Bokoblin camp southeast of Goron City (8-12 Bokoblins)
  3. Clear the Moblin patrol on the canyon road (3-4 Moblins)
  4. Circle back to the Lizalfos camp at the river bend (6-8 Lizalfos)
  5. Return to stable → wait for Blood Moon → repeat

Yield per loop:

  • Bokoblin Guts × 6-10
  • Moblin Guts × 3-4
  • Lizalfos Tail × 5-8
  • Various Horns, Fangs, Scales × mixed

Monster parts are the primary ingredient for all effect elixirs — maintain a stock of 20+ of each common type.

Route 4 — Zonaite Loop (Depths Central)

Time: 25 minutes per loop Yield: 40-60 Zonaite, 4-8 Large Zonaite Requirements: Miner's Set (or Brightbloom Seeds ×30), gloom resistance

Loop (Central Depths):

  1. Drop through a Central Hyrule chasm
  2. Navigate to Iayusus Lightroot (register if not yet done)
  3. Mine all Zonaite deposits in a 300m radius around the Lightroot (high density here)
  4. Move to Nionikik Lightroot — repeat mining
  5. Navigate to nearby Construct Factory — fight Flux Construct for Large Zonaite
  6. Ascend back to surface OR warp from a Lightroot

Zonaite uses:

  • 3 Zonaite = 1 Crystallized Charge at Zonai Device Dispenser
  • Large Zonaite = Large Crystallized Charge (powers major devices longer)

Route 5 — Hearty Bass Loop (Lake Hylia)

Time: 5 minutes per loop Yield: 8-15 Hearty Bass Requirements: Bomb Flowers ×5, or Bomb-fused arrows ×10

Loop:

  1. Warp to Lake Hylia area
  2. Find the Hearty Bass school (large school visible in the lake's northeast bay)
  3. Throw Bomb Flower into the school — collect 5-8 fish instantly
  4. Move to secondary school (northwest bay of Lake Hylia)
  5. Bomb and collect
  6. Warp to Eldin Stable — rest for Blood Moon → return

Cook yield: 5 Hearty Bass → Hearty Fried Bass (fully restores all hearts + 5 Yellow Hearts). Stock 10 meals minimum before any boss or temple.

Route 6 — Diamond Loop (Rare, High Value)

Time: 30 minutes per loop Yield: 1-3 Diamonds (500-1,500R) Requirements: Strong weapons, any biome resistance

Method: Silver Lynel farming

  1. Warp to Colosseum Ruins (Floating Colosseum sky island, northeast Hyrule)
  2. Fight the Silver Lynel — guaranteed Horn Drop (sells for 300R) + chance of Diamond
  3. Warp to second Silver Lynel spawn (Hyrule Castle courtyard area)
  4. Fight → collect → warp back after Blood Moon

Alternative: Hinox farming (Black Hinox reliably drop gems including rare Diamonds)

  • Two Black Hinox are near each other in South Akkala — chain both for efficient farming

Route 7 — Dragon Parts Loop (All Four Dragons)

Time: 15-30 minutes per loop (depends on dragon positions) Yield: 1 part per dragon per Blood Moon cycle (maximum 4 parts: Dinraal, Naydra, Farosh, Light Dragon) Requirements: High altitude access, strong bow

Dragon circuit:

  1. Dinraal (fire) — circles Death Mountain + north Eldin; harvest around 08:00-14:00
  2. Naydra (ice) — circles Lanayru + Mount Lanayru summit; harvest 14:00-20:00
  3. Farosh (lightning) — circles Lake Hylia + Faron region; harvest 00:00-06:00
  4. Light Dragon (gold) — high altitude above all Hyrule; harvest anytime

Parts yield per dragon per cycle:

  • Scale (from body)
  • Claw (from claw)
  • Fang (from mouth/horns area)
  • Horn (from horn tip — rarest, wait for Blood Moon reset)

Dragon horn use: Dragon horns are the top-tier weapon fuse material — they provide massive damage bonus and unlimited durability to any fused weapon. Farm 10+ horns for endgame loadout permanence.

Blood Moon Reset Timing

All respawn-dependent routes depend on Blood Moon. Optimal timing:

  • Natural Blood Moon: Every 7 real-time hours of active gameplay
  • Forced Blood Moon: Sleep loops at campfire (each sleep = 12 in-game hours, ~30 real seconds)
  • Fastest reset: Sit at a campfire, choose "Until Night" → choose "Until Morning" → repeat 6-7 times until red sky triggers

Plan your farm loops to end near a campfire for immediate reset cycling.

Route Chaining — Maximum Efficiency

Chain multiple routes in one session:

Full efficiency session (2 hours):

  1. Start: Eldin Ore Route (15 min) → sell to Beedle
  2. Warp: Rito Village → Frost Talus Sapphire Loop (20 min) → sell
  3. Warp: Lake Hylia → Hearty Bass Bomb Loop (5 min) → cook
  4. Warp: Central Hyrule monster camps → Monster Parts Loop (15 min) → cook elixirs
  5. Rest until Blood Moon → restart from step 1

This chain yields ~3,000-5,000 Rupees, full combat meal stock, and full elixir stock in a single session.
