Monster Parts Guide: What to Keep and How to Use Them
Monster parts are the drops from defeated enemies in Tears of the Kingdom. They serve two primary purposes: elixir crafting (combine with critters for buffed drinks) and weapon Fuse (attach to weapons or arrows for combat bonuses). This guide covers every major monster part category.
Monster Part Categories
Bokoblin Parts
- Bokoblin Horn: Elixir base; fuse gives moderate attack bonus to arrows
- Bokoblin Fang: Elixir base; fuse adds bladed damage
- Bokoblin Guts: Higher-tier elixir base; fuse gives decent arrow damage
- Black Bokoblin Horn: Upgraded version; better elixir effects, higher fuse bonus
Moblin Parts
- Moblin Horn: Fuse to arrows for moderate explosion; elixir base
- Moblin Fang: Sharp fuse material
- Moblin Guts: Best Moblin elixir ingredient; solid fuse bonus
Lizalfos Parts
- Lizalfos Horn: Fuse for split arrow shots; elixir base
- Lizalfos Talon: Fuse for speed bonus; elixir base
- Lizalfos Tail: Elemental tails (Fire, Ice, Electric) add their respective element when fused to weapons or arrows — extremely valuable
- Blue Lizalfos Tail / Red Lizalfos Tail / Yellow Lizalfos Tail: Fuse to arrows to create free elemental arrows
Lynel Parts
- Lynel Horn: Fuse for high attack bonus; elixir base
- Lynel Hoof: Fuse for solid attack bonus
- Lynel Guts: Best Lynel elixir ingredient; makes Attack Up Level 3 elixirs
- Silver Lynel Saber Horn: Best fuse attack bonus in the game for one-handed weapons — adds ~55 ATK
Gleeok Parts
- Gleeok Horn: Fuse creates an elemental explosion on hit; varies by head type
- Gleeok Wings: Fuse for high attack bonus with elemental properties
- Gleeok Guts: Rare high-value elixir ingredient; exceptional Attack Up duration
Construct Parts
- Construct Horn: Fuse for attack bonus; elixir base
- Construct Bow: Often a better bow than what you're carrying — pick up and use
- Large Zonai Charge (from Flux Construct): Refills battery significantly
Phalanx / Gibdo Parts
- Gibdo Bone: Extremely high fuse value — adds ~45 ATK to any weapon. Best early-game high-attack fuse material before Lynel farming
- Gibdo Wing: Fuse adds bone-type damage bonus
Elixir Recipes
Combine monster parts with critters (bugs, frogs) for buff elixirs:
| Desired Effect | Critter | Monster Part | |---------------|---------|-------------| | Attack Up | Bladed Rhino Beetle | Lynel Guts | | Defense Up | Rugged Rhino Beetle | Moblin Guts | | Speed Up | Hot-Footed Frog | Bokoblin Guts | | Heat Resistance | Fireproof Lizard | Any monster part | | Electricity Resistance | Thunderwing Butterfly | Any monster part | | Stealth | Sunset Firefly | Lizalfos parts |
Arrow Fuse Uses
- Lizalfos Tails: Creates free elemental arrows — attach tail to arrow for fire/ice/shock type
- Keese Eyeballs: Homing arrows — track moving enemies
- Chuchu Jelly: Creates elemental burst arrows — elemental type matches Chuchu color
- Bomb Flowers: Creates bomb arrows (already in game but stackable with fuse)
Fuse Attack Bonus Table
The number that appears when a material is fused to a weapon shows its ATK contribution:
| Monster Part | Fuse ATK Bonus | Best Use | |-------------|----------------|----------| | Silver Lynel Saber Horn | +55 | One-handed sword max damage | | Silver Lynel Mace Horn | +50 | Claymore / two-handed max | | Gibdo Bone | +45 | Early-mid game best accessible fuse | | Lynel Guts | +20 | Elixir base — don't fuse, cook | | Gleeok Wing | +30 + elemental | Best elemental fuse | | Black Lizalfos Tail | +14 + element | Elemental arrows, don't fuse to melee | | Bokoblin Horn (Black) | +14 | Budget arrow fuse | | Moblin Horn | +10 | Low fuse value — sell | | Blue Bokoblin Horn | +12 | Acceptable arrow fuse filler |
Key principle: Never fuse Lynel Guts — their elixir value (Attack Up Level 3) exceeds fuse bonus. Always cook them.
Elixir Duration Table
Monster parts determine elixir strength (effect level), critters determine duration. Using better parts gives stronger level, not longer time.
| Effect Level | Monster Part Tier | Example | Duration (3 critters) | |-------------|-------------------|---------|----------------------| | Level 1 | Basic (Bokoblin Horn) | Bokoblin Horn + Energetic Rhino Beetle | ~1:30 | | Level 2 | Mid (Moblin Guts) | Moblin Guts + Bladed Rhino Beetle × 2 | ~4:00 | | Level 3 | High (Lynel Guts) | Lynel Guts + Bladed Rhino Beetle × 3 | ~8:30 |
Maximum duration rule: 3 high-tier critters + 2 high-tier parts = Level 3 effect, 8–10 minute duration. This is the optimal elixir format for boss preparation.
Hinox, Stalnox, and Talus Drops
| Enemy | Drops | Best Use | |-------|-------|----------| | Hinox | Hinox Toenail, Hinox Guts, Hinox Tooth | Elixir base; Toenail fuses for solid ATK | | Stalnox | Same as Hinox + Star Fragment (rare) | Same; Star Fragment is sell/keep priority | | Stone Talus | Rare Ore chunks (Ruby, Sapphire) | Sell; no fuse/elixir value | | Igneo Talus | Rare Ore + fire-infused chunks | Same — sell ore, discard chunks | | Luminous Stone Talus | Luminous Stones | Sell at 70R each or keep for upgrade needs |
Hinox encounters are reliable for building Hinox Guts reserves — each Stalnox in the Depths guarantees a Star Fragment drop on first kill (each Stalnox drops one on initial encounter).
What to Keep vs. Sell
Keep permanently: Lynel parts (all — never sell), Gibdo Bone (stock up to 30+), Gleeok parts, Lizalfos Tails (all colors, stock per color), Silver enemy drops (all)
Keep until threshold then sell: Bokoblin Horns (keep 30, sell above), Moblin Horns (keep 20, sell above), Construct Horns (keep 15)
Sell immediately: Hinox Toenail excess above 20, Bokoblin Fangs above 20
Priority storage: Lizalfos Tails and Lynel Guts — highest utility per inventory slot. If inventory is full, drop Moblin Horns first.
Where to Farm Top-Tier Parts
| Part | Source | Location | |------|--------|----------| | Silver Lynel Saber Horn | Silver Lynel | Colosseum Ruins (Depths), Mount Lanayru | | Gibdo Bone | Gibdo swarms | Lightning Temple approach, Gerudo Desert | | Gleeok Guts | King Gleeok | Various elevated arena positions on surface | | Black Lizalfos Tail | Black Lizalfos | Faron / Akkala Depths | | Lynel Guts | Blue-maned Lynel+ | Colosseum Ruins, Hyrule Castle |
The Depths Colosseum (below Hyrule Castle Colosseum) has a predictable Silver Lynel + multiple enemy encounters on a fixed Blood Moon loop — best single-location farm for top-tier monster parts.
