Daumikis Shrine
Daumikis Shrine — Depths Hard Trial
Location: The Depths, East Depths Ability Required: Combat — high level Difficulty: Hard — Gloom Construct II + III combat with environmental hazards
Overview
Daumikis Shrine is a hard Depths combat trial — Gloom Construct II and III in an arena with Gloom floor sections and Gloom atmospheric damage. The lack of ambient light and active Gloom floor make this one of the most dangerous combat shrines in the Depths.
Preparation
- Sunny meals (5+) — mandatory
- Ice arrows (20+)
- Brightbloom Seeds (5+) — throw immediately for arena visibility
- Best weapons (40+ attack)
- 10+ heart containers recommended
Walkthrough
Setup
- Enter and immediately throw a Giant Brightbloom Seed to the center of the arena — this illuminates the entire fighting space.
- Identify the Gloom floor sections (dark red patches) and memorize their positions — stick to lit stone floor throughout the fight.
Phase 1 — Gloom Construct II
- Standard Gloom Construct II. Dodge its Gloom weapon swings (creates Gloom patches on the floor where it hits).
- Ice arrow stagger → melee burst cycle.
- Kill and eat a Sunny meal to restore any hearts lost to environmental Gloom.
Phase 2 — Gloom Construct III
- The Gloom Construct III drops in — faster, more aggressive, larger weapon arc.
- The Gloom patches from Phase 1 are still on the floor — safe movement space is now reduced.
- Maintain strict ice arrow stagger cycling. Don't attempt to out-damage it without staggers.
- Two full stagger cycles (2 ice arrows each → 4 total arrows for this phase) should finish it.
Altar
Collect your Light of Blessing.
Tips
- Brightbloom timing: The instant you enter the shrine arena, throw a Brightbloom Seed before any combat starts. Visibility is everything in the Depths.
- Phase 2 safe zones shrink: After Phase 1, roughly 40% of the floor has Gloom. Map the remaining safe zones before Phase 2 begins. The stone pillar areas are usually clear.
- Gloom Construct III speed: It attacks noticeably faster than the Construct II. Your dodge timing must be tighter — don't be lulled by Phase 1's pace.
- Sunny meal cadence: Eat one between phases regardless of heart count. Prevention > recovery.
- Retreat is valid: If positioning becomes untenable, use Ultrahand to grab a floor object and stand on it (above Gloom floor) temporarily while resetting your footing.
