Gotosu Shrine
Gotosu Shrine — Rauru's Blessing
Location: Faron Region — southwestern Faron near the Bronas Forest Coordinates: -1320, -3218, 0142 Type: Rauru's Blessing Shrine Difficulty: Easy — no puzzles, no combat Reward: Light of Blessing
Overview
Gotosu Shrine is a Rauru's Blessing shrine located in the southwestern reaches of the Faron region, tucked into the forested terrain near Bronas Forest. Like all blessing shrines, the interior requires no puzzle-solving or combat — the reward is for reaching this remote corner of Faron. Gotosu serves as a useful fast-travel anchor for southwestern Faron exploration and Lurelin Village approaches.
How to Reach
From Popla Foothills Skyview Tower (Recommended)
- Activate the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower if not already done.
- Launch from the tower and glide southwest toward the dense Faron forest canopy.
- Aim for coordinates -1320, -3218 — the shrine sits on a flat shelf in the tree-covered hillside.
- The orange glow is visible through the canopy as you descend.
From Lurelin Village
- Head northwest from Lurelin Village along the coastal path into the Faron interior.
- Follow the tree line uphill — the terrain rises gradually toward the shrine's elevation.
- Watch for Blue Lizalfos on the forest path; they ambush from tree cover.
- The shrine platform is visible once you crest the final hill above the forest floor.
From Eventide Island Approach
- If coming from the coast, head inland from the beach north of Eventide.
- Gotosu Shrine is a natural stopping point before or after the Eventide Island challenge.
Shrine Quest
Gotosu Shrine does not have a separate named shrine quest. It is exposed and accessible upon approach. Some players mistake nearby Shrine Quests in Faron for a Gotosu trigger — this shrine opens freely.
Inside the Shrine
The interior is short and direct. Walk through the entrance arch into the single chamber. The altar glows ahead with no obstacles between you and the blessing. Interact with Rauru's statue to receive your Light of Blessing and exit.
Chests
Gotosu Shrine contains no treasure chests. Rauru's Blessing shrines reward only the Light of Blessing.
Rewards
- Light of Blessing — trade four at any Goddess Statue (Rito Village, Zora's Domain, Kakariko Village, Lurelin Village area) for a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel
Nearby Points of Interest
- Lurelin Village — southeast; the coastal fishing village offers cooking resources, a general store, and Bolson's reconstruction side quest
- Eventide Island — offshore to the southeast; survival challenge island with a reward chest and a Korok seed
- Bronas Forest — dense rainforest to the north; excellent source of Hylian Mushrooms, Courser Bee Honey, and rare insects
- Faron Korok Seeds — multiple seeds cluster within 400 meters of the shrine; check lone rocks, pinecone formations, and flower trails
- Floria Bridge Cave — northeast; hidden cave with a Bubbulfrog and chest accessible via the bridge underside
Tips
- Fast-travel anchor: Gotosu Shrine is the closest waypoint to southwestern Faron and the Lurelin coast — activate it early when doing the Lurelin Village quest line.
- Weather storms: The Faron region experiences frequent thunderstorms. Unequip metal armor and weapons until the lightning passes — or cook electro-resistance food before entering open clearings.
- Hearty Durians nearby: Faron's southern forest is one of the best Hearty Durian spawning areas in the game. Farm a full stack for powerful full-recovery meals before boss encounters.
- Climbing tip: If approaching from the coast, Ascend through any overhang you encounter — it dramatically cuts travel time through the dense forest terrain.
- Night spawns: The forest around Gotosu Shrine spawns Stalizalfos after dark — manageable fights and good drops for monster parts.
Region Context
Gotosu Shrine sits in the southwestern Faron region, one of Hyrule's most tropical and lush biomes. The area's dense forest, coastal proximity, and varied terrain make it both beautiful and slightly disorienting to navigate without the map fully revealed. The Depths below this section of Faron contain Gloom-heavy caverns with Flux Constructs — the surface shrine is a valuable respawn anchor if the Depths go badly.
Faron's southern half is also home to several Hinox roaming the clearings between tree clusters — worth defeating for Hinox Horns and Tails used in armor upgrades. The terrain between Gotosu and Lurelin Village has two accessible river crossings that are useful landmarks when navigating without the full map.
Accessibility Notes
- No cold resistance required — unlike northern shrines, Faron is warm year-round
- Stamina considerations: The forest terrain is more vertical than it appears; extra stamina vessels help when climbing cliff faces in the interior
- Paraglider recommended: Several approach routes require gliding from elevated terrain; ensure your paraglider is upgraded if possible
