Mayaumau Shrine
Mayaumau Shrine — A Stalnox in the Cave
Location: Necluda, East Necluda / Dueling Peaks cave (quest-locked) Quest Required: Defeat the Stalnox inside a specific Necluda cave at night Difficulty: Hard — Stalnox boss fight required to unlock
Overview
Mayaumau Shrine is locked behind a Stalnox boss fight in a Necluda cave accessible only at night. The Stalnox is a massive skeleton monster that guards the shrine entrance inside a cave east of Dueling Peaks. Defeat the Stalnox to reveal the shrine and complete it.
Finding the Cave
- The cave is east of Dueling Peaks, accessible from the Necluda plains. Look for a cave entrance in the cliff face near the east Necluda river.
- Night only: The Stalnox appears only after 9 PM in-game time. If you find the cave during the day, wait at a nearby campfire until night.
- Enter the cave. The Stalnox activates immediately.
Defeating the Stalnox
Preparation
- Sword or melee weapon (35+ attack)
- 5+ arrows (any type)
- 5+ hearty meals
- Stalnox has high HP but a predictable weak point
Stalnox Strategy
- Phase 1: The Stalnox uses wide arm swings and body slams. Dodge the swings (they're very wide — sprint sideways, don't dodge-roll), counterattack during recovery.
- Eye mechanic: The Stalnox's real weak point is its large glowing eye. Shoot an arrow at the eye — the Stalnox crashes to the floor temporarily.
- During the floor crash, rush to the eye (which pops out and sits on the ground) and attack it with melee weapons for massive damage.
- Phase 2: After losing 50% HP, the eye moves to the Stalnox's back during some attacks. Circle the Stalnox when you see this — shoot the back-eye for the same knockdown.
- Continue eye-targeting until the Stalnox is defeated. The cave wall opens and Mayaumau Shrine appears.

Tips
- Eye targeting is fast: A Stalnox eye is large and slow-moving. Almost any aimed arrow shot will hit it. Use normal arrows (no need to waste elemental arrows on this).
- Arm swing dodge: Dodge the arm swings by sprinting sideways, not dodge-rolling. Dodge-rolling toward the center of the swing catches you in the hitbox. Sprint to the outside edge of the swing arc.
- Eye ground phase: When the eye lands on the ground, it stays there until the Stalnox recovers (~8 seconds). You have plenty of time to run to it and deliver a full combo.
- Cave navigation: The cave is well-lit enough to navigate but bring a Brightbloom Seed if the Stalnox fight visibility feels low.
- Stalhorses in the area: Stalnox fights often have Stallhorses nearby. These skeletal horses can be used as mounts — ride one into the cave to maintain movement advantage during the fight.
