Rutafu-u Shrine
Rutafu-u Shrine — Conveyor Crossing
Location: Hebra Peak area, northwest Hyrule Ability Required: Ultrahand Difficulty: Medium — conveyor belt and moving platform timing
Overview
Rutafu-u Shrine uses conveyor belt mechanisms — moving surfaces that carry objects (and Link) along with them. You'll ride conveyors, redirect their flow, and use them to transport heavy objects to pressure plates that open gates.
Preparation
- No combat
- Takes 8–10 minutes
- No special gear
Walkthrough
Section 1 — Ride the Belt
- A wide conveyor belt moves toward a large drop. The exit is on the far side of the belt.
- Walk onto the belt — it carries you forward. Don't fight the belt movement; let it carry you.
- At the far end of the belt, jump to the exit platform before the drop edge.
Section 2 — Object Delivery
- A pressure plate is on the far side of a conveyor belt, but the belt carries objects to the left, not toward the plate (on the right).
- Use Ultrahand to grab the directional switch above the belt and flip it — the belt reverses direction (now carries things to the right, toward the plate).
- Place the stone block on the belt — it rides to the pressure plate, activating the gate.
Section 3 — Chain Conveyors
- Two conveyor belts run in opposite directions. The altar platform is accessible only by navigating both.
- Board the first belt (moving right). At the end of belt 1, jump to belt 2 — which moves left.
- Ride belt 2 to a landing ledge between the belts. From the ledge, use Ultrahand to flip belt 2's direction switch.
- Board belt 2 again — now moving right — and ride it to the altar platform.

Tips
- You can run against a belt: If a belt is carrying you toward a hazard, sprint against its direction — the belt slows you but doesn't prevent movement. Use this to control your speed.
- Belt direction matters for objects: In Section 2, the stone block ONLY moves with the belt direction — it won't roll on its own. Make sure the belt is pointed toward the plate before placing the block.
- Section 3 landing ledge: The middle ledge in Section 3 is narrow. Jump to it early and position yourself centrally before flipping the belt switch.
- Chest on overhead ledge: In Section 1, there's a chest on a raised ledge above the conveyor. Grab the stone block near the belt entrance with Ultrahand and use it as a step to reach the ledge before the belt carries it away.
- Belt timing: The belts never stop — they're always moving. Don't wait for a "good moment" — there isn't one. Just board and move deliberately.
