Sibajitak Shrine — Steep Incline

Location: Lanayru, Mount Lanayru area Ability Required: Ultrahand Difficulty: Medium — incline cart and cable navigation

Overview

Sibajitak Shrine is set on steep mountain terrain and uses incline cart mechanics. You'll ride carts up steep tracks, attach fans and counterweights to overcome gravity, and navigate switchback rails to reach the altar. A puzzle type unique to Lanayru's mountainous geography.

Preparation

  • No combat
  • No special gear
  • Paraglider useful
  • Takes 8–10 minutes

Walkthrough

Section 1 — Uphill Fan Cart

  1. A cart sits on a steep uphill track. It rolls backward freely due to the incline.
  2. Use Ultrahand to attach two fans to the back of the cart — fans pointing downhill (so thrust pushes cart uphill).
  3. Board the cart and activate fans — the thrust overcomes gravity and the cart climbs the track.
  4. Ride to the first landing platform.

Section 2 — Counterweight Switch

  1. The second track section has a heavy stone counterweight hanging from a cable on the far side.
  2. The cart is too light to climb this section on its own, even with fans — the incline is steeper.
  3. Use Ultrahand to grab the counterweight and move it to the uphill side of the cable — it now pulls the cart up rather than holding it back.
  4. Board the cart — the counterweight + fans together provide enough force to reach the top of the incline.

Section 3 — Switchback

  1. The final section is a switchback — track that zigzags left then right on the way up.
  2. The fan cart doesn't have automatic steering. Use Ultrahand to grab the cart edge mid-ride and steer it through each switchback turn.
  3. Navigate two turns successfully to reach the altar platform.

Tips

  • Two fans are necessary on the steep incline: One fan provides enough force for gentle slopes but not steep ones. Always double-fan the cart before the incline.
  • Counterweight placement: The counterweight must be on the uphill cable post (above the midpoint). Placing it at the bottom means it still fights gravity — it needs to be high to create a positive pull.
  • Switchback steering: Start steering into each turn early — about 3 meters before the turn. Late steering causes the cart to ram the rail wall.
  • Cart stability on incline: If the cart feels unstable (wobbling), reduce fan speed by grabbing one fan with Ultrahand and rotating it slightly off-axis — less thrust, more stability.
  • Chest mid-route: At the first landing platform, there's a chest on a side ledge accessible by jumping off the cart at the right moment and grabbing it before re-boarding.
