Sosoriwak Shrine
Sosoriwak Shrine — Tabantha Sky Blessing
Location: Tabantha Sky Archipelago, above the Tabantha Frontier region Coordinates: (-3212, 2418, 1204) (sky layer) Type: Rauru's Blessing — Sky island navigation prerequisite Difficulty: Easy (interior) / Hard (approach — extreme cold + sky navigation)
Overview
Sosoriwak Shrine is a Rauru's Blessing shrine in the Tabantha Sky Archipelago — a chain of sky islands above the Tabantha Frontier and Rito Village region. No interior puzzle: walk to the altar. The challenge is reaching and navigating the island chain at altitude 1200m+. Extreme cold at this altitude requires Cold Resistance 3 (same as Mayam Shrine in north Akkala). The Tabantha Archipelago also features strong wind currents that push Zonai Wings off course — piloting control matters. Players who complete Sosoriwak gain a permanent fast travel point in the high Tabantha sky, making the entire sky zone accessible for future Zonaite farming runs.
Location Details
The Tabantha Sky Archipelago is visible above Rito Village as a cluster of floating stone platforms in the far northwest sky. The chain spans roughly 2km from Rito Village's latitude north to the Hebra sky zone border.
Approach options:
- Rito Village updraft + Wing: The wind draft above Rito Village's peak provides natural altitude gain — combine with a Zonai Wing for the multi-platform hop north to the shrine island
- Hebra Skyview Tower launch: Launches Link into the sky and provides a southward glide angle toward the Tabantha chain
- Intermediate island hops: Each island in the Tabantha chain is within paraglide range of the next — hop platform to platform northward from the Rito Village launch
Preparation
Mandatory:
- Cold Resistance Level 3 — Altitude 1200m+ is extreme cold; Cold Resistance 2 causes continuous damage here
- Full Snowquill Set (3 pieces, ★★ upgrade minimum) = Cold Resistance 3
- Or: Snowquill Set (★) + Spicy Elixir (Level 2) stacks to Cold Resistance 3
Recommended:
- Zonai Wing + 2 Fans — wind currents at this altitude are strong; fans provide course-correction authority
- Brightbloom Seeds — sky islands at night can be hard to see; illuminate the path
- Spicy Elixirs (4+) — cold insurance for extended sky exploration
- Zonai Batteries — extra charge for fans during the full Tabantha Archipelago circuit
Reaching the Shrine
Step 1: Launch from Rito Village
- Ascend Rito Village's natural updraft pillar at the village center.
- At maximum updraft height, open Paraglider and glide north toward the Tabantha Archipelago's nearest platform (visible as a flat stone surface at approximately 900m altitude).
- Land on the first platform — rest and evaluate remaining route.
Step 2: Island-Hop the Chain
- Each platform in the Tabantha chain is separated by ~300m horizontal and ~50m vertical.
- Use Paraglider between platforms — wind pushes eastward; compensate by aiming northwest.
- At the third platform, a Zonai Wind Turbine provides a boost; stand in the upward current for altitude recovery.
- Sosoriwak Shrine's orange glow is visible on the 5th platform from Rito Village — the chain's northernmost large island.
Step 3: Navigate the Cold Zone
- Cold Resistance 3 must be active above 1100m — verify before launching.
- If temperature damage starts, consume a Spicy Elixir immediately.
- Land on Sosoriwak's island and locate the shrine entrance.
Inside the Shrine
No puzzle. Walk the short corridor to Rauru's altar. Check for a treasure chest on the left side before the altar — may contain Zonaite, a Zonai Device Capsule, or a rare gem.
Altar
Interact with Rauru's statue for your Light of Blessing.
Island Loot
The Tabantha Archipelago platforms are worth fully looting before descending:
- Zonaite deposits — mine all exposed seams with any weapon
- Zonai Device Dispensers — may contain Wings, Fans, Rockets, Construct Horns
- Sky Octoroks — appear on isolated platforms; defeat for loot
- Bubbulfrog — check under overhanging ledges at night for Bubbul Gem
Tips
- Wind compensation: Tabantha sky wind pushes Link east — angle all flights northwest to account for drift
- Two fans on Wing: Single fan Wings lose altitude quickly over 300m spans; dual fans maintain level flight
- Cold Resistance 3 non-negotiable: Test at surface Hebra first — if you take cold damage there, you'll take more here
- Return trip: Once Sosoriwak activates, it's a permanent fast travel point — warp out rather than flying back down
- Combo run: Sosoriwak + Mayam (north Akkala sky) can be done back-to-back with Cold Resistance 3 gear already active
