Tauyosipun Shrine
Tauyosipun Shrine — Mining Puzzle
Location: The Depths, near Abandoned Hateno Mine Ability Required: Ultrahand Difficulty: Medium — ore and weight-based puzzle
Overview
Tauyosipun Shrine uses the Depths' abundant Zonaite ore as puzzle material. You'll mine Zonaite deposits in the shrine (with Ultrahand or weapons) and use the ore chunks as weights and building materials to solve the rooms. Unique to the Depths region.
Preparation
- No special gear
- A heavy weapon helps break ore faster (optional — all ore can be broken with Ultrahand)
- Takes 8–10 minutes
Walkthrough
Room 1 — Mine and Weight
- A large Zonaite deposit sits on the left wall. Mine it by hitting it with any weapon (3–5 hits) to produce 3 Zonaite chunks.
- A scale/balance platform in the center of the room needs weight on the right side to lower it and create a ramp.
- Use Ultrahand to place all 3 Zonaite chunks on the right pan of the scale — the scale tips right, creating a ramp on the left side.
- Walk up the ramp to the upper platform.
Room 2 — Ore Bridge
- A large ore vein spans the ceiling above a gap. Mine it — a long slab of Zonaite ore falls to the floor.
- Use Ultrahand to pick up the Zonaite slab and lay it horizontally across the gap as a bridge.
- Walk across the ore bridge to the next chamber.
Room 3 — Crystal Activation
- A Zonaite crystal switch on the far wall needs to be struck to activate it. It's too far to reach directly.
- Mine the Zonaite deposit in the room to get a small ore chunk.
- Use Ultrahand to throw the ore chunk at the crystal switch — it shatters the switch and opens the altar gate.

Tips
- Zonaite mines respawn: After clearing the puzzle, any Zonaite you didn't pick up in the shrine drops as collectible ore. Always collect all dropped Zonaite — it's used to upgrade your Energy Cell.
- Ore chunks as weapons: If you run into trouble anywhere in the shrine, fuse a Zonaite chunk to a stick — it creates a powerful construct-buster weapon with earth-type damage.
- Scale sensitivity: In Room 1, three chunks is exactly the right weight. Adding more than three tips the scale too far and flattens the ramp. Use exactly three.
- Ore slab bridge stability: The slab won't slide or shift once placed. You can walk across even if it's at a slight angle — just don't stack a second slab on top.
- Crystal throw range: You need to throw the ore chunk (not roll it) at the crystal. Use Ultrahand's throw motion (pull back, then forward quickly) to launch it with enough velocity to shatter the switch.
