Zoras Domain Complete Guide — Tears of the Kingdom

Zora's Domain is the aquatic city of the Zora people, nestled above the Lanayru Great Spring in northeast Hyrule. In TotK, the Domain faces a crisis — a torrential rain of Gloom-infused sludge from the sky has polluted the Zora waterways and trapped the city in a foul downpour. This is the Lanayru main questline: clear the sky above Zora's Domain and defeat the cause of the pollution.

Reaching Zora's Domain

Route from Lookout Landing:

1. Head northeast on the main road from Lookout Landing
2. Cross Rebonae Bridge into Lanayru province
3. Follow the Zora River northeast through Lanayru Wetlands
4. The Domain is built into a towering waterfall cliff structure — you'll see it from the river

Note: The sludge rain makes the roads between Lanayru Wetlands and Zora's Domain slippery and coated in black sludge. Horses navigate the sludge roads without penalty, but movement is slower on foot.

Shortcut: If you have the Lanayru Skyview Tower active, launch and glide directly northeast to Zora's Domain.

The Sludge Crisis — Main Quest Triggers

Boss: Mucktorok — A Gloom-possessed creature encased in sludge armor. Fight in two phases:

Phase 1: Mucktorok creates a sludge pool and skates around the arena. Use Sidon's water shield to push Mucktorok against the arena walls — the water blast from Sidon's shield stuns it and washes off the sludge armor temporarily. Then attack the exposed creature.

Phase 2 (50% HP): Mucktorok dives into the sludge and charges randomly. Position near the sludge pool edge — when it surfaces, immediately activate Sidon's shield to blast it clean, then strike.

2. Navigate the waterworks: mostly swimming through flooded chambers with Hydrant Zonai device puzzles
3. Find the Zora Helm chest in the deepest chamber
4. Return to Yona for quest completion
