About This Lightroot
Nosikuya Lightroot (anagram of Ayukison Shrine) anchors the northern Lanayru Depths where underground springs draining from the Lanayru Wetlands above have carved a flooded cave network unlike most dry Depths zones. The cavern floor is partially submerged — shallow pools 10-20 cm deep cover roughly 60% of the accessible area, making footstep sounds clearly audible and stealth movement difficult. Deeper pools (1-2 meters) form in natural depressions and conceal Luminous Stone clusters on their beds, visible as glowing patches from above. Aquatic materials unique to this zone cluster around the spring inlets: Hyrule Bass in the larger pools, Water Octoroks in the medium pools, and Gloom-infused Lizalfos of the blue aquatic variant in the main chamber. The Gloom Hands spawn zone is northeast of the lightroot in a sealed alcove accessible through the wet cavern network — the water dampening means Gloom spread from the Hands is slower than in dry zones, giving more time to react. Hydroponically, the wet floor supports Hylian Shrooms growing on the pool edges, a rare underground food source. A stone road runs south to Kisihayam Lightroot along the dry eastern wall, bypassing the flooded central zone. Chain navigation: north hub for upper Lanayru, south road to Kisihayam.
