About Hestu

Hestu is the beloved giant Korok and maracas-shaking icon of both BotW and TotK. He expands weapon, bow, and shield inventory slots in exchange for Korok Seeds — the currency gathered by solving Korok puzzles scattered across every corner of Hyrule. His journey in TotK mirrors the main story's progression: he starts near Lindor's Brow west of Lookout Landing, moves to Lookout Landing itself after your first interaction, and eventually returns home to Korok Forest once the Gloom problem there is resolved. Each category of inventory expansion costs progressively more seeds, with later slots demanding dozens of seeds per upgrade. There are 1,000 Korok Seeds total — far more than needed for a complete inventory. Hestu celebrates each upgrade with his signature dance, which has become one of the most beloved running gags in the franchise. His bond with the Koroks and the Great Deku Tree makes him an indirectly important figure in the forest questline.
