Quest Overview
A cartographer at Lookout Landing or a Depths researcher asks Link to map out unexplored sections of the underground Depths. Travel to five specific dark regions, activate the Lightroots to illuminate the area, and record the surrounding terrain. Each mapped zone reveals previously unknown Depths landmarks, enemy encampments, and hidden ore deposits. Completing the full survey earns upgrades to the Purah Pad's Depths map layer and a batch of Crystallized Charges.

Accept the Mapping Assignment
A cartographer named Rozel at Lookout Landing or a research student near the Depths entrance has been trying to fill in blank areas of the underground map. He marks five unexplored Depths regions on the Purah Pad and offers Crystallized Charges for each area documented. Light the Lightroot in each zone to begin the mapping process.

Activate Five Lightroots
Navigate to each of the five marked Depths coordinates. Use Brightbloom Seeds liberally as Depths navigation requires light sources. Each Lightroot activation illuminates a significant area and marks it on your map. The five regions include areas under Eldin, Lanayru, Faron, Gerudo, and Hebra — spanning the full underground breadth of Hyrule.

Collect Your Documentation Reward
After activating all five Lightroots, return to the cartographer. He confirms the new areas have appeared on the Lookout Landing research map. Each documented zone earns Crystallized Charges and the final zone unlocks an enhanced Depths map layer on the Purah Pad showing Lightroot locations as permanent markers.
