Quest Overview
With Hateno Village's election in full swing, a public debate has been scheduled in the town square between Cece and Reede. Neither candidate has prepared their talking points. Help both candidates — or just one, depending on your allegiance — prepare their arguments by gathering testimonials from villagers, fetching relevant documents from the mayor's office, and coaching them on their delivery. The debate outcome shifts the village's political direction for the rest of the game.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1
The Debate Is Announced
After completing the Team Cece or Team Reede quest, Hateno Village announces a formal public debate between the two candidates in the town square. Neither candidate is prepared. Both ask Link for help gathering materials for their opening statements: testimonials from villagers, policy documents from the mayor's archive, and coaching on delivery.
2
Gather Testimonials
Speak with five villagers to collect testimonials for your chosen candidate (or both, for a neutral approach). Each villager has a concern: food prices, housing quality, the fashion district, or farming support. Record their statements using the Purah Pad and deliver the compiled testimonials to the candidate.
3
Retrieve Policy Documents
The mayor's archive in the town hall contains historical policy records relevant to both candidates' platforms. Retrieve the documents (two sets: agricultural policy for Reede, commercial development records for Cece) and deliver them. Each candidate uses the documents to strengthen their argument.
4
Watch the Debate Outcome
The debate takes place at sundown in the town square. Your preparation influences the crowd's reaction. A well-prepared candidate delivers a polished speech; an unprepared one stumbles. The debate outcome shifts Hateno's political direction and determines which candidate wins the mayoral election. Link receives Rupees regardless of the winner.
