Quest Overview

Addison is holding a Hudson Construction sign on the switchback road leading up Death Mountain, but volcanic tremors keep shaking the post out of its intended position. The unique challenge here is that the support structure must be heat-resistant — wooden props burn up before they can hold. Source a volcanic rock from the lava-adjacent terrain and use it as the anchor for the tilting sign.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Find Addison at the Mountain Switchback

Addison is on the second switchback of the Death Mountain trail, visibly sweating more than usual even for this region. The sign keeps shifting from tremors. He needs a heavy volcanic rock as support — wood burns before it can hold in this heat. Equip Flamebreaker armor before proceeding.

2

Retrieve a Volcanic Rock

Volcanic rocks suitable for support lie near the lava pools to the east. Carry one using Ultrahand, being careful to avoid lava splatter. The rock must be large enough to anchor the sign's base. Position it firmly against the post on the downhill side to counteract the tremor-induced tilt.

3

Collect the Reward

Once stable, Addison rewards Link with rupees, a Fireproof Elixir (fitting for this region), and an equipment piece. He notes this was his trickiest sign yet and thanks Link for the heat-resistant solution.
