Quest Overview
The annual Goron Torch Relay — a tradition where a sacred flame is carried from the base of Death Mountain to the summit torch and back — was cancelled after the Upheaval. Goron youth Lyndae wants to restart the tradition but the five relay torches along the route were extinguished and some were damaged. Link must relight all five relay torches using a fire seed from the base torch and navigate the increasingly dangerous route to the summit.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1
Accept the Torch Relay from Lyndae
Lyndae is at the base of Death Mountain near the first relay torch — a stone brazier on a pole. He has the sacred fire seed (a Smotherwing Shell that stays ignited), the starting torch of the relay. He lights the first brazier himself, but the route becomes too dangerous for him. Five more torches must be relit along the mountain path before the relay is officially restored. Link carries the fire seed onward.
2
Light Torch 2 — Mid-Slope Station
The second torch is 100 meters up the main path. Its brazier mount is intact but the bowl is filled with ash and debris from the eruptions. Clear the debris with Ultrahand (pick up the ash chunks) and light the brazier with the fire seed. A Bokoblin camp has moved in around this station — defeat the four guards before lighting the torch (they'll try to extinguish it if still active).
3
Light Torch 3 — The Lava Bypass
The third torch is past a section where the original path was destroyed by a lava flow. The detour goes over a Zonai bridge — but the bridge Zonai crystals need power. Insert a Zonai Charge into the bridge device to restore it, cross, and reach the third brazier. It's structurally intact. Light it; the flame is visible from Goron City below.
4
Light Torch 4 — The High Shelf
The fourth torch is on a shelf 200 meters up, accessible by gliding from a thermal updraft on the west face. The brazier pole was knocked sideways by an eruption — use Ultrahand to stand it upright before lighting. Two Igneo Pebblits guard the shelf. Defeat them, right the pole, light the torch. From this elevation, three of the lower torches are visible — a sight Gorons haven't seen in months.
5
Light Torch 5 — The Summit Brazier
The summit torch is the largest — a ceremonial brazier built by the ancient Gorons to be visible across all of Eldin. The summit requires Fireproof armor or Elixirs. The brazier is intact but encrusted with volcanic mineral deposits. Use a Flint-fused weapon to chip the deposits (three melee swings), then light the torch. The flame catches and blazes high. The relay is complete — all five torches burning simultaneously for the first time since the Upheaval.
