Adventure Overview

Elder Gorko, one of the oldest Gorons on Death Mountain, was a keeper of the ancient fire trials that Goron warriors completed as rites of passage before Marbled Rock Roast addiction consumed Goron culture. Now that Yunobo has freed the Gorons, Gorko wants to revive the fire trials as part of cultural restoration. He challenges Link to complete three ancient trial chambers hidden in Death Mountain's lava caves.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Find Gorko at the Sacred Stone

After the Goron City restoration, find Gorko sitting at the ancient elder's stone near the upper lava fields. He is reviving the ancient fire trial tradition and wants Link to prove worthy by completing all three chambers.

2

First Trial — The Lava Walk

Enter the first trial chamber in Death Mountain's eastern slope. Navigate across a lava field using Ultrahand to reposition cooling stone platforms while avoiding fire blasts from nearby Fire-Breath Lizalfos. Flamebreaker armor is required.

3

Second Trial — The Flame Puzzle

The second chamber requires redirecting jets of flame using metal reflector plates to light three signal torches simultaneously. Timing the plate positions requires careful Ultrahand work under heat pressure and a countdown timer.

4

Third Trial — The Fire Beast

The final chamber houses a powerful Igneo Talus Titan — a massive lava-encrusted Talus variant. Defeat it using Yunobo's Rock Roar to shatter its ore body, then strike the exposed weak point with the most powerful weapon available.

5

Earn the Fire Brand

Returning to Gorko after completing all three trials earns the ancient Goron Fire Brand mark. Gorko shares oral history of Death Mountain's pre-addiction era and provides rare Fireproof Lizard farming location knowledge.
