The Lost Dog of Hateno
Adventure Overview
A beloved dog named Linkle has gone missing from Hateno Village after the Upheaval opened a sinkhole near the village well. The village children are distraught, and the innkeeper Symin has posted a notice on the board. Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1
Read the Village Board Notice
The Hateno Village notice board has a hand-drawn flier: "MISSING — Linkle the dog. Last seen near the village well." The innkeeper Symin confirms the dog fell into the sinkhole three days ago.
2
Enter the Sinkhole
The sinkhole near the well leads into a shallow cave network beneath Hateno's foundations. Use a Brightbloom Seed for light. Linkle's paw prints in the mud lead deeper into the tunnel system.
3
Navigate the Old Sheikah Tunnel
The tunnels connect to a sealed Sheikah passageway that predates the village. Ancient stone lanterns still functional when struck reveal carved inscriptions about the village's original founding by a Sheikah clan after the first Calamity.
4
Find Linkle and the Surprise
Linkle is found in a dry chamber at the tunnel's end — unharmed and guarding a Sheikah chest containing a pre-Calamity Sheikah artifact and a family heirloom belonging to Paya's grandmother, lost generations ago.
5
Return to Hateno Village
Bring Linkle back to the village and deliver the heirloom to Paya's ancestral storage room in Kakariko. The discovery is historically significant — Symin begins documenting the tunnel system as a new chapter in Hyrulean history.
