Link — 8-Bit (NES)
About This Amiibo
The classic 8-bit Link from the original NES Legend of Zelda, rendered in blocky pixel-art proportions that started the entire franchise. Drops retro-themed items and the exclusive Tunic of the Hero armor set. Rusty weapon drops have hidden value — Octoroks in Eldin can polish them into random upgraded weapons, making this a surprisingly useful farming amiibo.

- Cooldown: 24 hours (real time) before you can scan again.
Tips & Strategy
Drops the retro NES-themed Tunic of the Hero armor set. The Rusty weapon drops have hidden value: bring them to an Octorok (found in Eldin and other regions) and let it inhale and spit the weapon back — this resets durability and adds a random weapon modifier. It is one of the only ways to get a free weapon upgrade in TotK. Scan daily if you need cheap Octorok bait.
Save-Scumming for Better Drops
- Save your game before scanning the amiibo.
- Scan the amiibo and check the chest.
- If you did not get the desired exclusive reward, reload your save.
- Scan again. Drops are re-rolled each time you load.
- Repeat until you get the Tunic of the Hero (full set).
