Maren's Tip
Every enemy type has a weakness. Fire enemies melt with ice, ice enemies with fire. Gibdos are vulnerable to fire and lightning — stock those arrows!
Description
Gibdo are unique among TotK enemies in having a damage-immunity mechanic that requires a specific counter — water-based damage — rather than elemental weakness. The outer husk acts as complete physical and magical armor until water contact softens it. Gibdo Bone is one of the most underrated Fuse materials in the game: a weapon Fused with Gibdo Bone receives a massive damage multiplier making it competitive with Lynel-tier Fuse materials for a fraction of the farming difficulty.

How to Beat Gibdo (Water Weakness System)
In the Gerudo Desert, rainstorms and Sidon's water power are the primary husk-removal tools. Outside these conditions, Splash Fruit fused to an arrow is the most efficient husk-strip — one splash arrow removes the husk and deals water damage simultaneously. After husk removal, standard melee combos work without elemental expenditure. Gibdo Bone drops are used for two-handed bone clubs via Fuse that deal extremely high damage despite their unconventional appearance. In groups, Sidon's water shield splash can strip multiple Gibdo husks simultaneously.
