Description

Molduga is one of TotK's most rewarding farming targets per fight-time ratio. The bomb-bait mechanic is predictable and exploitable — experienced players complete the encounter in under 60 seconds. Molduga Fin drops are used in the highest-tier attack elixirs alongside Bladed Rhino Beetle, making Gerudo Desert Molduga farming routes the premier attack elixir ingredient source. All four Moldugas in the Gerudo Desert can be cleared in a single farm session before Blood Moon respawn.

Weakness

Detonating a bomb on the sand surface while it is submerged triggers the leap. When it lands after the leap, it is fully stunned for 4 seconds — every attack during this window deals double damage. Bomb arrows to the face during the stun are the most damage-efficient hits.

How to Beat Molduga (Efficient Farming)

For farming: stand on a rock to prevent sand detection, throw a single Remote Bomb to the sand surface (not Bomb Arrow — throw the Zonai bomb to the ground), detonate when Molduga leaps toward it, rush in and combo during the stun. Molduga Fin and Guts are two of the best attack-elixir ingredients in the game — a double batch of attack elixirs from one Molduga provides 20+ minutes of buffed combat time. Each Molduga also drops a treasure chest; the chest can contain a Silver Lynel Saber Horn on rare occasions.
