amiibo Drops Guide — Everything Each amiibo Drops in TotK

amiibo figures are NFC-enabled Nintendo collectible figures that drop exclusive items in Tears of the Kingdom. Each figure has its own unique loot pool — specific armor pieces, paraglider fabrics, weapons, and materials. Some of the rarest gear in the game is amiibo-exclusive.

This guide covers every amiibo that works in TotK, what each one drops, and how to farm them efficiently.

How amiibo Work in TotK

Enabling amiibo

  1. From the Purah Pad main screen, go to Settings
  2. Scroll to find the amiibo option and ensure it's enabled
  3. Alternatively: from the system Switch menu, amiibo scanning uses the right Joy-Con's NFC touchpoint (the flat square on the top right of the right Joy-Con)

Scanning an amiibo

  1. In-game, open the amiibo menu (accessible from the Purah Pad accessories page)
  2. When prompted, hold your amiibo figure against the right Joy-Con NFC point
  3. A supply crate drops from the sky — open it to collect your items

Daily Reset

  • Each amiibo can be scanned once per real-world day
  • The reset happens at midnight (12:00 AM local time)
  • If you didn't get the item you wanted, try again tomorrow with the same amiibo

Loot Pool Mechanics

  • amiibo drops are randomized — you don't always get the same item
  • Each amiibo has a specific pool of items: the unique armor or fabric is in the pool but may take multiple days to appear
  • Materials and food (berries, mushrooms, arrows) always fill the remaining crate slots
  • Scanning all available amiibo daily is the fastest way to collect all exclusive items

  • Exclusive drops: Zelda's TotK ceremonial armor pieces (headdress, gown), Zelda TotK Paraglider Fabric
  • Material drops: Sundelions, fruit, arrows

Daily amiibo Farming Routine

For completionists aiming for all amiibo items:

  1. Set a daily alarm — scan all amiibo at the same time each day (midnight reset)
  2. Prioritize armor-exclusive amiibo first: TotK Link, TotK Zelda, TotK Ganondorf, Archer Link, Toon Link, WW Zelda
  3. Track what you've obtained — keep a checklist so you know when to stop scanning each figure
  4. Don't skip fabric-only amiibo — fabrics are in random drop pools and may take 2–3 weeks of daily scanning

Estimated time to full collection:

  • If you have all amiibo: 2–6 weeks of daily scanning (random loot pools vary)
  • Average: 3–5 scans per amiibo per unique exclusive item

Tips and Notes

  • amiibo are not region-locked for TotK items — Japanese, European, and American amiibo all work equally
  • Duplicates don't matter — if you scan the same amiibo multiple days after collecting the unique item, you simply get materials instead
  • amiibo scanning location in Hyrule doesn't matter — you can scan from any location
  • The supply crate from amiibo scanning can fall on terrain and roll away — watch the landing spot
  • Weapons from amiibo: Some amiibo (primarily BotW-era) occasionally drop replica weapons (Sword of Awakening, etc.) — these are not consistently in any amiibo's pool but appear rarely
  • amiibo armor upgrades: All amiibo armor can be upgraded at Great Fairy Fountains — check the materials list for each piece's upgrade cost before upgrading
  • Do not sell amiibo armor — these items are amiibo-exclusive and cannot be repurchased
