Lomei Labyrinth Island Guide — Sky & Depths Solution
Lomei Labyrinth Island Guide
Lomei Labyrinth Island is the third of three labyrinths in Tears of the Kingdom — located in the Akkala Sea Sky Islands, northeast of the Akkala Highlands. Like its overworld counterparts, it has both a sky portion and a corresponding Depths portion. The island is the most isolated labyrinth, requiring Sky Island travel to reach. This guide covers the full solution for the sky maze, the Depths twin, and both rewards.
Location & How to Get There
Lomei Labyrinth Island is located northeast of the Akkala region, floating over the Akkala Sea.
How to reach:
- From Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower — launch from the tower, activate paraglider, and drift northeast across the sea
- Stamina requirement: Two full stamina wheels minimum for the overwater glide — bring Endura Meals
- Alternative: Build a sky boat from Akkala stables area using Zonai fan + platform from a dispenser, then fly northeast across the water
Coordinates: Approximately (4490, 3440, 700) — northeast sea sky islands.
Sky Maze Solution
The sky labyrinth is a stone maze built on a floating island. The goal is to reach the shrine at the maze's center.
Top-down strategy (recommended):
- Climb the exterior wall of the labyrinth using stamina + climbing gear
- Once on top of the outer wall, walk along the wall top — you can see the full maze layout
- Navigate the wall tops to the center structure
- Drop inside near the shrine
Ground-level strategy (longer):
- Enter through the southwest opening
- Turn left at the first intersection
- Continue north at the second fork
- The path winds clockwise around the center — keep the inner wall on your right
- The shrine becomes visible when you reach the northeastern interior corridor
Traps: The sky Lomei has pressure plates that trigger floor spikes. Walk carefully in the narrow corridors — the spike triggers are timed, not proximity-based.
Tu Ka'loh Shrine
Location: Center of the sky labyrinth Type: Rauru's Blessing (reward shrine — no puzzle, just a chest) Reward: Barbarian Helm (the head piece of the Barbarian Set)
The shrine is pre-completed — simply enter to claim the chest.
Barbarian Helm stats:
- Defense: 3 base
- Effect: Attack Up (per-piece bonus active from the moment you equip it)
- Upgrade path: Great Fairy → scales to Defense 12 at 4★
Depths Labyrinth — Tukarok Shrine
Below Lomei Labyrinth Island in the Depths is the corresponding Depths labyrinth. This portion contains the Tu Ka'loh Depths shrine.
How to reach the Depths labyrinth:
- Find the Depths entrance beneath Akkala — drop through a Depths chasm in northeast Akkala
- Navigate to the area directly below Lomei Labyrinth Island's coordinates
- The Depths version of the labyrinth mirrors the sky version's layout but in darkness with gloom hazards
Depths navigation tips:
- Bring 20+ Brightbloom Seeds — the Depths maze has zero ambient light
- The Miner's Set from Bargainer Statues provides personal glow and makes navigation significantly easier
- Gloom-resistant food (Sundelion dishes) is recommended — the maze floor has gloom patches at corners
- The Depths shrine is at the center, same position as the sky version
Depths maze reward: The Depths labyrinth Blessing Shrine rewards a chest with additional Barbarian gear upgrades or rupees depending on your current armor inventory.
Full Barbarian Set Completion
Lomei Labyrinth Island is the final piece needed to complete the Barbarian Set:
| Piece | Location | |-------|---------| | Barbarian Helm | Lomei Labyrinth Island (sky) — Tu Ka'loh Shrine | | Barbarian Armor | North Lomei Labyrinth (mainland) — center shrine | | Barbarian Leg Wraps | South Lomei Labyrinth (mainland) — center shrine |
Full Barbarian Set bonus (at 2★ Great Fairy):
- Per-piece: Attack Up (×3 when wearing all three pieces = significant damage boost)
- Set bonus: Charge Attack Stamina Up — reduces stamina consumed by charged melee attacks
- This combination provides the highest sustained DPS output of any set in the game
Tips & Tricks
- Paraglider efficiency: When approaching from Ulri Mountain Skyview, launch at full height and immediately activate the paraglider for maximum glide distance. Use food with Movement Speed or Hasty Elixirs for the overwater section.
- Wall walking vs. maze solving: Wall-top navigation is 5x faster than ground-level maze solving. The outer walls are climbable from outside. Climb once and walk to the center.
- Ice-block platforms: Some sections of the sky maze floor have ice patches — these are slippery and can redirect your movement into spike traps. Use ice-grip armor or food for stability.
- Save before the shrine: The Tu Ka'loh Shrine gives a permanent reward (Barbarian Helm) — save before interacting in case of technical issues.
- Akkala Ancient Tech Lab nearby: After completing Lomei Labyrinth Island, visit the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab on the mainland (northeast Akkala) for additional rewards and the Cherry Ancient Oven interaction.
