Lurelin Village Restoration Guide — South Hyrule TotK
Lurelin Village Restoration Guide — Tears of the Kingdom
Lurelin Village is a tropical fishing village on the Faron Sea coast in South Hyrule — one of the warmest and most scenic locations in TotK. In the game, the village was raided and occupied by a large Bokoblin force before the events begin. Restoring Lurelin Village is a major side adventure that rewards Link with the Kipimana Shrine and access to the village's unique activities.
The Lurelin Village Crisis
When Link arrives, Lurelin Village is deserted — buildings are damaged, Bokoblins have set up camp in the harbor and on the beach, and the former residents have scattered. A woman named Rozel stands outside the village, unwilling to return until the Bokoblin threat is eliminated.
Side Adventure: Lurelin Village Restoration Project
Quest trigger: Speak to Rozel near the village entrance road (she's the woman in the light-blue dress standing on the road).
Quest overview:
- Clear the Bokoblin camp — The main camp occupies the village harbor. Defeat all Bokoblins (approximately 12–15 enemies including a Blue and Black Bokoblin commander).
- Repair the damaged buildings — Three village buildings have structural damage. Use Ultrahand to reattach walls, roof sections, and support beams.
- Complete a resident request — After the buildings are repaired, speak to the village elder who returns. He asks for specific fish (Porgy) caught from Lurelin Bay.
Total time: 35–50 minutes (most time spent on structural repair and fishing).
Step 1 — Clearing the Bokoblin Camp
The camp layout:
- 8 standard Bokoblins patrol the beach and pier
- 1 Blue Bokoblin atop the village lookout tower (archer — priority target)
- 1 Black Bokoblin commands from the harbor entrance (high HP)
- 3 Bokoblins inside the damaged inn building
Recommended approach:
- Take out the archer first with a well-aimed arrow from the road approach
- Lure individual Bokoblins out from the group using thrown objects (Bokoblins investigate sounds)
- Clear the beach, then the harbor
- Black Bokoblin last — use a Fused weapon (30+ attack) for this fight
Tip: Bomb Flowers thrown into the Bokoblin cluster at the harbor entrance clear 4–5 enemies instantly.
Step 2 — Structural Repairs
Three buildings need repair. Each requires Ultrahand to reattach specific structural components that are lying nearby.
Building 1 — The Inn: Roof panels are on the ground — pick each one up with Ultrahand and attach them back to the roof framework. The panels snap into place at the correct attachment points.
Building 2 — The Fishing Hut: A side wall has collapsed. The wall section is leaning against the adjacent structure. Reattach it to the building frame — it requires precise 90-degree rotation to align correctly.
Building 3 — The Village Store: Several support beams have fallen. Reattach 3 beams to their original slots on the store framework — they glow when positioned correctly.
Tip: Each repaired building triggers a visual confirmation (building glows briefly) when the attachment is accepted.
Step 3 — Elder Rozel's Fishing Request
After the buildings are repaired and the residents return, village elder Rozel (now back in the village) asks for 3 Porgy fish from Lurelin Bay.
Catching Porgy:
- Porgy are the large silver fish visible swimming in Lurelin Bay
- Use Bomb Flowers thrown into the water (stuns fish, they float to surface for collection) for fastest gathering
- Alternatively, fish with arrows — shoot individual Porgy directly
Delivering the Porgy: Bring 3 to Rozel in the village center. Quest completes.
Reward: Kipimana Shrine
After completing all three steps, the Kipimana Shrine appears near the Lurelin Village harbor — a Rauru's Blessing shrine (no interior puzzle). Walk in, collect the Light of Blessing, and the shrine serves as a permanent Faron coast fast-travel point.
The shrine chest contains: Opal × 3.
Lurelin Village Activities (Post-Restoration)
Fishing Minigame
Location: The fishing pond behind the restored inn Cost: 20 rupees per session Objective: Catch the largest fish in the pond within 2 minutes
Prizes by fish size:
- Small catch: Arrows × 5
- Medium catch: 50 rupees
- Large catch: 100 rupees (profit — recommended if you can reliably catch large fish)
- Prize fish (rare): Opal (worth 60 rupees)
Tips for the fishing minigame:
- Throw a stone into the water first to scatter the small fish — the prize fish stays at the center
- Target the center pool where the largest fish circles
- The largest fish is visible as a distinctly bigger shadow — aim ahead of its swimming direction
Tropical Cooking Ingredients
Post-restoration, the Lurelin Village shop reopens with unique tropical ingredients not found in other regions:
- Hydromelon (cooling, heat resist cooking) — 16 rupees
- Voltfin Trout (electric cooking ingredient) — sold by a fisherman near the dock
- Porgy (standard fish, HP recovery) — 12 rupees
- Bright-Eyed Crab (defense boost ingredient) — 20 rupees
Best Lurelin meal: 3× Bright-Eyed Crab + 2× Armored Carp = Defense Up meal (high defense boost, 3 minute duration).
Lurelin Well
Post-restoration, the village well is accessible. Inside:
- Chest: Radiant Shirt (unique cosmetic top, only available post-restoration)
- Bubbulfrog on the well ceiling (hit before it escapes for a Bubbul Gem)
Getting to Lurelin Village
From Lookout Landing: Follow the south road from Lookout Landing → Faron Stable → continue southeast along the coastal road. Lurelin is at the southernmost point of the Faron coast road.
Fast travel shortcut (post-restoration): After completing the restoration, Kipimana Shrine provides a fast travel point for all future visits.
Without fast travel: The Faron Stable is the nearest stable — approximately 10 minutes south of the stable on horseback.
Lurelin Village restoration is one of TotK's most satisfying side adventures — transforming a ruined camp into a living village in a single session. The fishing minigame is a reliable 100-rupee/session generator post-restoration, and the tropical ingredients open unique cooking options not available elsewhere on the south coast. Do this early in the Faron region circuit.
