Pony Points Guide — All Stable Rewards and How to Earn Them in TotK
Pony Points — The Stable Rewards System
Pony Points are a loyalty currency earned by using stables across Hyrule. Every time you interact with a stable — registering a horse, checking in, getting a horse out — you earn Pony Points. Accumulate enough and redeem them for exclusive horse equipment and items unavailable elsewhere.
How to Earn Pony Points
| Activity | Points Earned | |----------|--------------| | Registering a new horse | 5 points | | Checking in at a stable (with a horse) | 1 point | | Getting your horse from the stable | 1 point | | Stabling a horse for the first time at a new stable | 5 points |
Maximum daily earning: You can earn Pony Points once per stable per in-game day. Visiting all 13 stables in one in-game day caps your daily points at roughly 13+ points from check-ins.
Fastest accumulation: Register horses you find in the wild — each new species (standard, spotted, white, wild, giant, Stalhorses) gives 5 points on registration. The 5-point registration bonus only applies to the first registration at any given stable.
Pony Points Rewards
Speak to the Stable Trotters NPC at any stable to spend Pony Points. The catalog is shared across all stables — points earned anywhere can be spent anywhere.

Best Rewards (Priority Order)
1. Towing Harness (150 points) — Buy First
The Towing Harness is the most functionally useful Pony Points reward. It allows your horse to pull Ultrahand-constructed vehicles — useful for moving large Zonai builds across terrain that's hard to fly over. It's also required for certain puzzle solutions and construction-based side quests.
2. Horse Armor Sets (200–300 points)
The three barding sets are cosmetic but prestigious. Priority order based on appearance:
- The Royal — highest status, white with gold Hyrule crest; pairs with white horses
- The Ancient — Sheikah aesthetic, pairs with darker colored horses
- The Extravagant — purple/gold, bold choice
Horse armor is purely cosmetic in TotK — it doesn't add defense for the horse. It's for style.
3. Horse God Fabric (500 points)
The most expensive reward — a paraglider fabric featuring a horse-themed design. Required for full paraglider fabric collection (for completionists). Low gameplay priority, high prestige.
Fastest Path to 150 Points (Towing Harness)
- Visit every stable in Hyrule (13 total) — first visit to each gives 1+ check-in points
- Register new horses at each stable — wild horses count; stable a new horse at each location for 5 points each
- Check in daily — 1 point per check-in per stable per day
Minimum effort path:
- Visit all 13 stables: 13 check-in points
- Register 1 new horse at each: 65 points (5 × 13)
- Total from one sweep: ~78 points
- Second sweep (next in-game day): +13 more
- One or two more horse registrations fills the rest
Estimated time to 150 points: 2–3 hours of intentional stable circuit travel.
Horse Species for Bonus Points
Registering different horse types all give the 5-point registration bonus. Finding unique horses to register helps:
| Horse Type | Where to Find | |------------|--------------| | Standard wild horse | Hyrule Field, Faron Grasslands | | Spotted horse | Central Hyrule road areas | | White horse | Safula Hill (Ridgeland, west of Hyrule Castle) | | Giant horse | Taobab Grassland (southwest Hyrule Field) | | Mountain horse | Satori Mountain area | | Stalorse | Gloom areas (undead, can't be stabled) |
The Giant Horse (near Taobab Grassland) and the White Horse (Safula Hill) each give 5 points on first registration and are worth seeking out for points and as great permanent mounts.
Stable Trotters NPC
The Stable Trotters is a traveling performance troupe that serves as the Pony Points redemption interface. At least one Stable Trotters member appears at every stable. Approach them and select "Check my Pony Points" to see your current balance and browse the catalog.
Tips
- Don't waste points on consumables (carrots) until you have the Towing Harness. Endura and Swift Carrots are available from other sources. Save for the gear.
- Pony Points carry over — there's no expiration and no max balance. Accumulate freely.
- Stable visits for fast travel — every stable is a fast travel point. Register at all 13 stables early game for the travel network benefit, and you get the Pony Points as a bonus.
- Horse stats matter more than armor. 5-star horses (max strength + speed + stamina) are bred by visiting the Horse God (Malanya) near the Lake Tower stable area in Faron.
