Dujonin Shrine
Dujonin Shrine — Proving Grounds: Valor
Location: Necluda Region, Hateno Village area Type: Combat Trial Shrine — Two-Wave Construct Fight Difficulty: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) — Medium Coordinates: 3457, -2197, 0114 Required Ability: Combat (Flurry Rush recommended) Reward: Light of Blessing
Overview
Dujonin Shrine is Necluda's mid-game combat proving ground — a two-wave Zonai Construct trial that escalates in complexity from wave to wave. Wave 1 is a straightforward Soldier Construct II; Wave 2 introduces a Soldier Construct III with additional HP, a charge attack, and faster recovery windows. Completing Dujonin cleanly (under 2 healing meals) indicates combat readiness for Necluda's tougher exploration content and the Yiga Clan fortresses in the region.
Preparation
| Item | Purpose | |------|---------| | Weapon 25+ attack | Wave 2 requires sustained damage output | | 4 healing meals | Buffer for Wave 2 mistakes | | Bomb Arrows (×5) | Fast opener for Wave 1; headshot option | | Attack-boosting meal | Optional but accelerates both waves |
No elemental prep needed — both constructs are neutral-element; ice, fire, and lightning tactics provide no damage bonus here.
Enemy Overview
| Wave | Enemy | HP | Weapon | New Attack vs Wave 1 | |------|-------|-----|--------|---------------------| | 1 | Soldier Construct II | ~120 | Spear | — baseline | | 2 | Soldier Construct III | ~200 | Spear + Shield | Charge attack |
Walkthrough
Wave 1 — Soldier Construct II
The arena is flat stone with no environmental hazards. The Construct II stands center-arena facing you.
Standard clear loop:
- Opener: Fire a bow shot at the Construct II's glowing orange head node — headshot staggers it for 2 seconds; sprint in and deal 4–5 melee hits
- Sweep dodge: The Construct II opens with a wide horizontal sweep. Dodge sideways (not backward — the sweep tracks rearward movement). A well-timed dodge triggers Flurry Rush.
- Flurry Rush burst: 6–8 rapid hits. Back away before the Construct recovers.
- Stab finisher: After its 2-hit combo, it thrusts forward. Dodge sideways — Flurry Rush trigger window. Repeat burst.
- Estimated clear: 2 Flurry Rush cycles at 25+ attack drops Wave 1.
3-second pause: After the Construct II falls, Wave 2 begins approximately 3 seconds later. Use this window to eat a healing meal if needed.
Wave 2 — Soldier Construct III
The Construct III spawns from the same center-arena position. Visually similar to the Construct II but with slightly different coloring and a Shield in its off-hand on some encounters.
New attack — Charge:
The Construct III adds a rushing charge to its repertoire — it lowers its spear and sprints across the arena toward Link.
- Dodge timing: Dodge sideways when the Construct III drops into its charge stance (torso lowers, spear angles forward)
- Dodging 0.3 seconds before contact triggers Flurry Rush — the most rewarding damage window in the fight
- Dodging too early causes the dodge to finish before the charge arrives; too late gets hit
If you can't time the charge dodge:
- Sprint sideways — the charge has limited tracking and you can outrun it to the side
- Circle back to normal melee range after the charge overshoots
Shield variant:
If the Construct III carries a shield, frontal attacks are blocked. Solutions:
- Attack from the side or rear
- Jump over and drop-attack from above (aerial attacks bypass shields)
- Use a Bomb Arrow — explosion damage bypasses shield blocking
- Trigger a Flurry Rush from its charge (bypasses shield mechanics entirely)
Damage loop:
- Headshot opener → stagger → 4-hit burst
- Sweep dodge → Flurry Rush → 6-hit burst
- Charge dodge → Flurry Rush → 6-hit burst
- Estimated clear: 3–4 cycles at 25+ attack
Chest — Arena Rear Wall
After Wave 2 is defeated, check the rear wall of the arena:
- An alcove opens in the back wall (it was sealed during combat)
- Chest is on the alcove floor
- Contains a Zonaite Sword + or Soldier Construct III Horn (fuse material)
Altar
Walk to Rauru's statue and collect your Light of Blessing.
Chest Summary
| Chest | Location | Contents | |-------|----------|----------| | Rear-wall alcove | Opens after Wave 2 defeat | Zonaite Sword+ or Construct III Horn |
Tips & Strategy
- Flurry Rush is the win condition: Both constructs are designed around dodge-counterattack loops. A player who can reliably trigger Flurry Rush clears both waves in under 90 seconds. A player who relies on pure attack trading will burn through healing meals.
- Wave 1 headshot save: Using a headshot arrow opener on Wave 1 staggers it before it can do anything — free burst damage without the dodge timing challenge. Conserves health for Wave 2 where the charge timing is harder.
- Charge identification: The Construct III's charge has a visible wind-up — it crouches, lowers the spear, and pauses 0.5 seconds before sprinting. That pause is your trigger window. Watch for the crouch.
- Don't rush Wave 2: After eating during the 3-second gap between waves, take a beat to observe the Construct III's first attack. Its charge may not appear immediately — it often opens with its standard sweep first. Don't Flurry Rush-bait the charge if it isn't doing the charge yet.
- Necluda benchmark: Dujonin is the fair checkpoint for whether your combat skills match Necluda's exploration difficulty curve. If you cleared it without healing, you're in good shape. Two or more healing meals suggests working on Flurry Rush timing before pushing deeper.
Required Abilities
- Combat fundamentals — dodge timing (Flurry Rush), bow aiming at weak points
- No Zonai abilities needed
