Ishokin Shrine
Ishokin Shrine — Combat Training
Location: Necluda, Hateno region Ability Required: Combat skills Difficulty: Hard — combat shrine with fire-element construct
Overview
Ishokin Shrine is a combat trial — no puzzles, pure combat. You face a Fire Construct III, a powerful Zonai construct enemy that uses fire-imbued attacks. The construct can light the floor on fire, shoot fire balls, and summon flame pillars. Prepare with fire-resistant gear or food, and bring your best weapons.
Preparation
- Fireproof Elixir or Flamebreaker Armor (2+ pieces) strongly recommended — the construct lights the arena floor on fire
- Bring 3–5 weapons with high attack power; the construct has substantial HP
- Ice arrows are the construct's major weakness — stock 20+
- Bomb fusions on melee weapons are effective
- Eat a hearty meal for full hearts before entering
Walkthrough
Phase 1 — Opening
- The Fire Construct III charges immediately. Don't stand still. Sprint to the side and get behind cover — stone pillars in the arena provide temporary protection from fireball salvos.
- First priority: Use an ice arrow to freeze the construct — it staggers, opening a window for 3–5 melee hits before it recovers.
- Watch for the floor ignition attack: the construct smashes the ground and lines of fire radiate outward. Jump over the fire lines or run to a safe tile.
Phase 2 — Below Half HP
- Once below half health, the construct becomes more aggressive — it launches a volley of 5 fireballs in quick succession.
- When you see it wind up for the volley, run perpendicular to break the homing arc, then counterattack with a ranged ice arrow.
- Flurry Rush windows: When the construct charges you with a melee strike, dodge sideways (not backward) for a Flurry Rush opportunity — lands 8–12 hits.
Finishing
- Keep cycling: ice arrow stagger → melee burst → dodge/cover → repeat.
- Once the construct is defeated, the arena clears and the altar activates.
Altar
Collect your Light of Blessing.

Tips
- Ice arrows are king: Each ice arrow freezes the construct for ~3 seconds — more than enough for a full melee combo. Prioritize bow upgrades with ice arrows.
- The stone pillars save lives: Never fight the construct in the open. Use the arena's stone pillars to break line of sight on fireballs.
- Fireproof vs Flamebreaker: Flamebreaker Armor needs 2+ pieces to provide Flame Guard 1. If you don't have it, a Fireproof Elixir (lizalfos + misc materials) lasts 4 minutes — more than enough.
- Don't waste Bomb Flowers: Save your Bomb Flower fusions for this fight — the explosion damage plus fire damage on the construct is effective. Attach to a sword for power attacks.
- Cooked meat of any kind restores more HP per item than raw; cook before entering.
