Jinodok Shrine — Flight Navigation Trial

Location: Eldin Sky Islands, above Death Mountain region Coordinates: (1842, 2986, 0904) (sky layer) Type: Puzzle Shrine — Zonai Flight Construction Difficulty: Medium

Overview

Jinodok Shrine is positioned on an Eldin sky island above Death Mountain — one of the warm-zone sky shrines where temperature is not an issue (the volcanic warmth from below makes the sky islands above Eldin unusually temperate). The shrine tests Zonai Wing and Fan construction: each room requires building a functional glider using available Wing and Fan components, then piloting it through a defined course. Jinodok is one of the earliest sky shrines accessible via the Eldin Skyview Tower, making it an excellent introduction to sky construction mechanics before players attempt the colder and more remote sky regions.

Preparation

  • Ultrahand — for attaching Fans to Wings inside the shrine
  • Paraglider — for recovery if the glider course is missed
  • No temperature gear needed — Eldin sky islands are warm due to volcanic heat rising from Death Mountain
  • No combat gear — purely construction and flight
  • Basic construction instinct: fans attach to Wing's rear face, angled backward for forward thrust

Walkthrough

Step 1: Basic Wing + Fan

The first room provides one Wing and one Fan on material shelves. Use Ultrahand to attach the Fan to the Wing's rear center. Stand on the Wing and activate the Fan — the glider launches forward. A gap in the wall ahead is the flight target. Pilot the Wing through the gap opening by angling your weight (move left/right on the Wing surface). Land on the platform beyond the gap.

Step 2: Dual-Fan Glider

The second room has a wider gap requiring faster and more stable flight. Two Fans are provided. Attach one Fan to each rear corner of the Wing — balanced left-right. Dual fans provide more thrust and better straight-line stability than a single fan. Launch and maintain center trajectory through the opening. The platform landing zone is narrower — flare (slow) the glider before landing by moving backward on the Wing.

Step 3: Turning Course

The third room has an L-shaped course — the gap requires a mid-flight turn. Single Fan setup is sufficient. Attach the Fan, launch, then shift your weight to the left side of the Wing during flight to bank left through the corner of the L-course. The Wing responds to weight distribution — standing left banks left, standing right banks right.

Step 4: Extended Range

The final room has a long gap — approximately 40m. The single Fan Wing will lose altitude before reaching the far side without correction. A Stabilizer device is available. Attach the Stabilizer to the Wing's underside to reduce drag and extend range. Launch and maintain level flight — the Stabilizer prevents pitch oscillation and keeps the Wing level across the full 40m gap.

Step 5: Altar

Through the final gate is Rauru's altar. Collect your Light of Blessing. The chest contains a Zonai Fan device capsule — direct inventory of the primary component used throughout the shrine.

Tips

  • Fan placement: always center of rear face for straight flight; offset for turning bias
  • Dual fans = more stable; single fan = tighter turning; Stabilizer = extended range, less maneuverability
  • If the Wing crashes into a wall, use Ultrahand to retrieve it and reattach components — shrine objects reset on exit
  • Weight distribution controls turning: stand toward the wing tip you want to turn toward
  • Jinodok's construction lessons apply directly to overworld Zonai ruins and the full sky island exploration meta

Nearby Points of Interest
