Kisinona Shrine — Wind Turbine Power

Location: Central Hyrule, Hyrule Field area Ability Required: Ultrahand Difficulty: Easy — wind turbine and power generation puzzle

Overview

Kisinona Shrine introduces wind turbine power generation. You'll position a turbine in a wind stream to generate electricity that powers a lift. Position the turbine correctly and the power circuit completes, running all connected mechanisms. Simple concept, clean execution.

Preparation

  • No combat
  • Takes 4–6 minutes
  • No special gear

Walkthrough

Room 1 — Position the Turbine

  1. A horizontal wind stream flows through the room from left to right. A power turbine sits on the floor (not in the wind stream).
  2. Use Ultrahand to pick up the turbine and position it in the center of the wind stream — the turbine's blades must face the wind (perpendicular to the flow).
  3. When correctly positioned, the turbine spins and lights illuminate. The lift platform activates.
  4. Board the lift and ride it to the upper level.

Room 2 — Turbine Angle

  1. The second room's wind stream comes from an angle (45 degrees, not straight left-right).
  2. The turbine needs to face the angled wind — rotate it 45 degrees before placing it in the wind stream.
  3. Once correctly angled and positioned, the turbine spins and powers the gate mechanism.

Altar

Walk from Room 2 directly to the altar — no more rooms.

Collect your Light of Blessing.

Tips

  • Turbine must face the wind: The turbine blade face must be perpendicular to the wind direction (blades facing into the wind). Parallel placement doesn't spin it.
  • Height matters: Place the turbine at the height of the wind stream — too low or too high and the wind doesn't hit the blades. The wind stream is visible as a shimmering air band.
  • Room 2 angle: The 45-degree wind stream requires a 45-degree turbine rotation. Use Ultrahand's rotation (right stick) to set the angle precisely.
  • Power indicates correct placement: When the turbine is correctly positioned, all powered objects (lifts, lights, gates) activate simultaneously. If nothing activates, the turbine isn't in the stream correctly.
  • This shrine is quick: Kisinona is one of the fastest shrines to complete — 4–5 minutes cleanly. Use it as a quick Light of Blessing during early Central Hyrule exploration.
  • Wind stream visibility: The wind stream is visible as a shimmering air band with slight particle movement. If the stream is hard to see, place the turbine slightly above floor level and slide it laterally until it spins — the spinning confirms you're in the stream.

Location Details

The shrine is in northern Hyrule Field, accessible from Lookout Landing by heading north along the main road toward Woodland Stable. From Lookout Landing, walk or ride north approximately 500 meters — the shrine marker appears on the right side of the road near a low stone formation. From Woodland Stable, head south along the road back toward Lookout Landing. No special gear required for the approach; the surrounding area has light Bokoblin activity but the shrine entrance is accessible without combat.
