Morok Shrine — An Uplifting Device

Location: Eldin region, south Death Mountain slopes Coordinates: (1886, 2456, 0312) Type: Puzzle Shrine Difficulty: Easy

Overview

Morok Shrine introduces and reinforces the Bomb Flower Fuse mechanic — using explosive force to launch Link and objects upward. The shrine's puzzles all rely on controlled explosions: launching heavy objects to smash barriers, propelling Link upward to reach elevated platforms, and timing explosive chains to activate multiple switches simultaneously. Classified Easy, Morok serves as a gateway to understanding explosive Fuse applications throughout the Eldin region and beyond.

Preparation

  • Bomb Flowers — provided inside the shrine via wall dispensers; bring 3-4 extras as backup
  • A basic weapon for Fusing Bomb Flowers when needed
  • Flamebreaker Armor or Fireproof Elixirs for the Eldin exterior approach
  • No advanced combat required — entirely puzzle focused
  • Full hearts before the approach through Death Mountain's continuous heat hazard

Walkthrough

Step 1: Boulder Launch

The first room has a heavy stone boulder and a sealed gate. A Bomb Flower from the wall dispenser can be Fused to an arrow and shot at the base of the boulder — the explosion launches the boulder upward and forward, smashing the gate's locking mechanism. Aim at the notch in the stone below the boulder. One Bomb Flower arrow is sufficient.

Step 2: Upward Launch — Link

A high ledge is inaccessible by climbing alone. Position a stone plate on the floor directly below the ledge. Fuse a Bomb Flower to a weapon and place it near the plate, then trigger the explosion with a fire arrow or lit torch thrown at it. The explosion launches the plate upward — stand on the plate before triggering to ride it up to the ledge level. Time your jump off the plate at peak height.

Step 3: Explosive Chain

The third room has three switches arranged in a triangle, all too far apart to hit by hand. A row of Bomb Flowers is embedded in the floor in a line connecting all three switch positions. Light the first Bomb Flower — it explodes, triggers the second, which triggers the third. The chain covers all three switches within 2 seconds, registering simultaneous activation and opening the exit.

Step 4: Timed Exit

The final gate opens for only 8 seconds after the chain explosion. Position yourself near the gate before triggering the chain, then sprint through immediately when it opens. Bomb Flowers respawn after 30 seconds if you miss the window.

Step 5: Altar

Beyond the final gate is the altar. Collect your Light of Blessing. The chest nearby contains Bomb Flower x5 — replenishment for the materials used inside.

Tips

  • Bomb Flower arrows are the most controlled delivery method — aim precisely at the target's base for maximum upward force
  • Stand on the plate before triggering the explosion in Step 2 — you must be on it during launch
  • The chain in Step 3 propagates automatically once the first flower ignites — fire then immediately move toward the gate
  • Bomb Flowers respawn at their wall mounts after 30 seconds — no need to carry extra supply
  • Fireproof Elixirs crafted from Fireproof Lizard + any monster part are a cheap alternative to Flamebreaker Armor for the approach

Chest Summary

| # | Contents | Location | |---|----------|----------| | 1 | Bomb Flower x5 | Near the altar, beyond the final timed gate. |
