Nakuta Shrine — Simple Steps

Location: Sky Islands region Ability Required: Ultrahand Difficulty: Easy — introductory sky island block puzzle

Overview

Nakuta Shrine is a gentle puzzle designed to familiarize players with block manipulation in the sky island environment. The steps are small, the blocks are few, and the solutions require only basic Ultrahand work. A solid shrine for early sky exploration.

Preparation

  • Ultrahand required
  • Paraglider helpful for reaching the island and recovering dropped items
  • No combat
  • Takes 5–7 minutes

Walkthrough

Step 1: Gap 1 — Single Block Bridge

  1. The first chamber has a small gap between the entrance ledge and the main platform. A single flat block is nearby.
  2. Use Ultrahand to pick up the flat block and lay it across the gap as a bridge.
  3. Walk across.

Step 2: Gap 2 — Stacked Step

  1. The second section has a wider gap and a raised far platform. One block alone won't span it — you need height as well as distance.
  2. Two blocks are available: one tall, one wide.
  3. Use Ultrahand to stack the tall block on the wide block, creating an L-shaped step.
  4. Position the L-step so the wide part bridges the gap and the tall part aligns with the far platform's height.
  5. Walk across the wide base and step up onto the tall block, then onto the far platform.

Step 3: Gate — Weight Plate

  1. The final gate has a weight plate embedded in the floor nearby. The gate opens only when sufficient weight is placed on it.
  2. There is a heavy stone sphere in the alcove to your left. Use Ultrahand to roll it onto the weight plate.
  3. The gate opens. Walk to the altar.

Tips

  • L-step alignment: The combined block structure (wide + tall) should have the tall block as close to the far platform edge as possible. If the tall block is too far back, you'll struggle to step up — there's a small gap.
  • Weight plate threshold: The stone sphere is heavy enough on its own. You don't need to add other blocks to the plate.
  • Sky edge caution: The Gap 2 crossing is close to the platform edge. Keep your approach central and don't rush.
  • Chest: In the alcove where the stone sphere was stored — visible immediately when you enter the alcove. Grab it before taking the sphere.
