Nouda Shrine
Nouda Shrine — A Wind-Blessed Trial
Location: Hebra Sky Islands, northwest above Rito Village Type: Rauru's Blessing (trial is outdoors) Difficulty: Easy — no interior puzzle; the trial is reaching and activating the shrine Coordinates: Hebra Sky Island chain, approx. -3400, 1750, 1200 (surface anchor) Reward: Light of Blessing
Overview
Nouda Shrine is a Rauru's Blessing shrine above Rito Village — meaning the shrine interior contains no puzzle. The real challenge is the journey to reach it: a multi-platform sky island wind trial that requires precise paragliding, stamina management, and understanding the quirks of TotK's updraft columns. Complete the wind trial outside and the shrine materializes on the central island as your reward.
How to Reach the Shrine
Step 1: Launch Point
Two reliable launch points:
- Rospro Pass Skyview Tower (-3542, 1518, 0275) — the fastest and most direct. Launch straight up and glide northwest. The island chain is visible on clear days from peak height.
- Rito Village Great Eagle Bow Platform — climb to the highest accessible rooftop or spire in Rito Village and launch from there. Angle northwest and up toward the island silhouettes.
Ensure Level 1+ Cold Resistance for the outdoor approach — full Snowquill Set or one level of cold-resist food.
Step 2: Locate the Island Chain
The Hebra Sky Islands appear as a series of three floating platforms connected by visible white updraft columns. They sit roughly 800 meters above sea level. The platforms step upward from east to west — each slightly higher than the last.
If you can't see them from your launch, look for the white vapor column rising from the lowest platform — that's Tower 1's updraft.
Step 3: Wind Trial — Tower 1
- Land on the easternmost (lowest) platform — this is the trial's starting point
- Locate the white updraft column rising from a circular vent in the platform's center
- Open your Paraglider and step directly into the center of the updraft column
- The column carries you upward — hold the Paraglider to stay centered; angling sideways ejects you
- At the column's peak, you'll see a glowing wind rune pedestal — interact with it to activate Rune 1
- The next island becomes fully visible from this height — glide northeast toward it
Stamina warning: The updraft ride itself costs no stamina, but the paraglide between towers does. You need approximately 1.5 full stamina wheels to complete all three inter-tower glides. Bring Endura Elixir or Stamella Shroom dishes as backup.
Step 4: Wind Trial — Tower 2
- From Tower 1's activated rune, glide to the central platform (slightly higher, to the west)
- Find Tower 2's updraft column — same white vapor pattern
- Enter from directly below and ride it to the top
- Activate Rune 2 at the pedestal
- Look further west — Tower 3 and the central shrine island are now visible
Rune order matters: Activating runes out of sequence (e.g., Tower 2 before Tower 1) resets the trial. The runes are numbered by proximity to the starting platform (1 = easternmost, 3 = westernmost). If you land on the wrong platform first, fly east to find Tower 1.
Step 5: Wind Trial — Tower 3
- Glide west from Tower 2's peak to the highest platform (westernmost)
- Tower 3's updraft column is here — same process as Towers 1 and 2
- Ride the updraft and activate Rune 3
- The shrine materializes on the large central island below and between the towers — a flash of light marks its appearance
Step 6: Reach the Shrine Island and Enter
- From Tower 3's peak, glide down to the central shrine island (it's lower and between the three tower platforms)
- The shrine entrance is now open — walk in
Shrine Interior — Rauru's Blessing
No puzzle. This is a blessing shrine: the trial was outside.
Walk straight to Rauru's altar and collect your Light of Blessing.
There is no chest inside Nouda Shrine.
Tips & Strategy
- Enter updraft columns from directly below — off-angle entry pushes you out sideways; position yourself under the column's center and open the Paraglider before stepping in
- Weather check before flying — active thunderstorms near Rito Village create erratic winds that destabilize the updraft columns; wait for clear weather if the columns behave unusually
- Stamina backup is mandatory — the inter-tower glides at this altitude are long; one Endura Elixir keeps you safe from stamina failure mid-crossing
- One attempt per activation — once you activate a rune and glide to the next tower, you generally can't return to an earlier tower; plan your route before starting
- Scenic value — this is one of TotK's most visually rewarding shrine unlocks; the view of Rito Village and Lake Totori from 1,200m elevation is worth pausing to appreciate
Reward
Collect your Light of Blessing. Accumulate four Lights of Blessing and exchange them at any Goddess Statue for:
- Heart Container — increases maximum health by one full heart
- Stamina Vessel — increases stamina wheel for longer climbs, swims, and paragliding
