Satasata Shrine
Satasata Shrine — Moving Platform Timing
Location: Faron Region, Necluda border highlands Coordinates: 1632, -2891, 0180 Abilities Required: None specific (Recall optional shortcut, Paraglider for safety) Type: Puzzle Shrine — platform timing Difficulty: Medium
Overview
Satasata Shrine is a moving platform timing challenge — a sequence of platforms moving on offset schedules over a deep void. No Zonai devices, no Ultrahand; this shrine tests pure movement timing, observation, and commitment. Three platform sections of increasing complexity lead to the altar. Most of the shrine can be shortcutted with Recall (reversing platform movement to create alternative timing windows), or recovered from with the Paraglider if a jump is mistimed. This shrine is one of the most satisfying in the game to clear cleanly.
Location Details
The shrine sits in the Faron highlands near the Necluda border, east of Lake Floria and west of the Dueling Peaks approach. From Popla Foothills Skyview Tower, glide east-southeast to the highland shelf at coordinates 1632, -2891. The surrounding area has Blue Lizalfos camps — detour around the east side to avoid combat before entering.
Preparation
- No specific abilities required
- Paraglider recommended for safety (automatic as long as you obtained it early game)
- Recall optional but strong shortcut
- No combat inside — no armor preparation needed
Detailed Walkthrough
Before You Start — Observation Protocol
DO THIS FIRST: Stand at the shrine entrance and watch all visible platforms complete two full cycles before jumping.
Note for each platform:
- Direction of movement (left-right, forward-back, circular)
- Speed (slow, medium, fast)
- Pause duration at each end (some pause 0.5s, others 2s)
- Synchronization with adjacent platforms (do two platforms align briefly?)
Two observation cycles give you enough pattern data to plan your route without trial-and-error. Impatient jumping without observation is the primary cause of repeated deaths in this shrine.
Section 1 — Two-Platform Sequence
- Platform 1 moves left and right on a 4-second cycle, pausing 1 second at each end.
- Wait for Platform 1 to reach its nearest position to the entrance and begin its pause.
- Jump on during the pause — don't wait for it to return to you, jump at the near-pause.
- Ride Platform 1 to the far end. Platform 2 is adjacent — time your jump as Platform 1 reaches its far-end pause and Platform 2 is at its closest alignment.
- Jump from Platform 1 to Platform 2 during their brief alignment window.
- Ride Platform 2 to the far side — the first gap is cleared.
Section 2 — Three-Platform Sequence (Chest Detour Available)
- Three platforms in the second section move on offset cycles. This is where the timing complexity peaks.
- Observe all three: Platform A moves fast, Platforms B and C move slowly and in different directions.
- The main path uses Platform A → Platform C (skipping B).
- Chest detour: Platform B leads to a side ledge with a Treasure Chest. If you take Platform A → Platform B → side ledge, collect the chest, then return to B → back to A → C. This adds ~45 seconds but the chest is worth it.
- To take the main path: Platform A → brief alignment with Platform C → jump.
Chest contents: Common rewards include a Forest Dweller's Spear, Stamella Shroom bundle, or Strong Zonaite material.
Section 3 — Rotating Platform (Final)
- The final platform rotates slowly in a horizontal circle rather than moving linearly.
- The altar is on a fixed ledge adjacent to the rotating platform's outer edge.
- Wait for the rotating platform to swing nearest to the starting ledge → jump on.
- As it rotates, move to the outer edge. When it swings to the altar ledge's alignment → jump across.
- The jump window lasts 1.5 seconds — commit without hesitation when the alignment comes.
Altar
Walk from the landing ledge to Rauru's statue. Interact for your Light of Blessing.
Chest Location
The treasure chest is on a side ledge in Section 2, accessible via Platform B. Take the B detour before continuing to Platform C on the main path.
Tips
- Recall shortcut: If a platform is at an inconvenient position, activate Recall on it — it reverses to its previous position, creating an alignment window that didn't exist in the natural cycle. This is the most powerful technique in timing shrines and cuts the difficulty significantly.
- Paraglider recovery: If you fall off a platform, open the Paraglider immediately. The void in this shrine has collision floor at a lower level in some sections — the Paraglider may let you float to a lower platform rather than dying. Test before committing to risky jumps.
- Platform edge landing: Land near the center of platforms, not the edge — edge landings can bounce Link off. Move to the center after landing before attempting the next jump.
- Don't rush Section 2: The three-platform section's timing is forgiving if you observe correctly. Rushing kills patience and patience is what clears this section.
- Stamina: If you grab a ledge after a short jump, you need stamina to pull up. Keep one stamina ring in reserve during this shrine — don't sprint between platforms.
