Shada Shrine
Shada Shrine — Electric Combat Trial
Location: Lanayru, east of Zora's Domain Ability Required: Combat Difficulty: Hard — Thunder Construct combat trial
Overview
Shada Shrine pits you against a Thunder Construct III in Lanayru's electrically-charged environment. The construct uses electric staffs, lightning bolts, and an electrified floor slam. Similar to Mayausiy Shrine's challenge but set in a Lanayru aesthetic rather than a sky arena. Metal weapons forbidden.
Preparation
- Wooden weapons only — electric constructs electrify metal weapons on contact, stunning Link
- Ice arrows (20+) — primary crowd-control tool against electric constructs
- Fire arrows (10) as backup if ice runs low
- Rubber Armor (shock resistance) if you have it — provides meaningful mitigation
- 5+ hearty meals
Walkthrough
Phase 1 — Standard Combat
- The Thunder Construct III opens with a charged lightning shot — a glowing ball of electricity that arcs toward Link on impact.
- Dodge left or right (never backward — the arc homes slightly). A successful dodge triggers Flurry Rush.
- After Flurry Rush, retreat to range. Fire an ice arrow — constructs stagger when frozen. Use the stagger for 4–5 wooden weapon hits.
Phase 2 — Floor Slam
- At ~60% HP, the construct leaps and slams the floor — electrical pulses radiate outward in a star pattern.
- Jump over the first pulse, then position between pulse lines.
- Immediately return fire with ice arrow during the construct's recovery animation.
Phase 3 — Rapid Shots
- Below 40% HP, the construct fires two charged lightning balls in quick succession.
- Dodge the first, immediately dodge the second (the second fires ~0.7 seconds after the first).
- After both dodge/Flurry Rush windows, fire ice arrow.

Collect your Light of Blessing.
Tips
- Wooden weapons are non-negotiable: The construct's ground slam electrifies nearby metal objects. If you're holding a metal sword, it turns into a shock hazard in your hand. Equip wood-handled weapons only.
- Ice arrow > fire arrow here: Fire arrows deal bonus damage to the construct but don't stagger it as reliably as ice. Ice stagger windows are longer and safer.
- Lightning ball dodge direction: Dodge left or right — these balls have slight tracking. Backward dodges don't create enough lateral separation. Left/right creates a clean miss.
- Flurry Rush timing is generous: Electric constructs have slightly longer attack animations than other construct types — you have more time to dodge and trigger Flurry Rush than you might expect.
- Rubber Armor source: Rubber Armor is sold by a vendor inside the Rito Stable area after completing a nearby Side Quest. If you're in Lanayru, it's worth a detour for this fight.
