Taki-Ihaban Shrine
Taki-Ihaban Shrine — Construct Assembly
Location: Central Hyrule, west Hyrule Field Ability Required: Ultrahand Difficulty: Medium — multi-component assembly puzzle
Overview
Taki-Ihaban Shrine is an assembly puzzle — you're given a collection of parts and must combine them into a functional machine that solves the room's challenge. Unlike other shrines with one dominant solution, Taki-Ihaban rewards creative construction. Multiple valid builds exist.
Preparation
- No combat
- Creativity is an asset here
- Takes 8–12 minutes
Walkthrough
Room 1 — Bridge Builder
Available parts: 2 boards, 2 wheels, 1 fan Goal: Cross a wide gap to the exit platform
Suggested build: Attach wheels to the board's underside (one on each end), then attach the fan to the back of the board. The wheeled fan-cart rolls across the gap.
Alternative: Attach both boards end-to-end to create a bridge long enough to span the gap.
Room 2 — Elevated Retrieval
Available parts: 1 long pole, 1 hook, 1 board Goal: Retrieve a key from a deep pit and bring it up to use on the door
Suggested build: Attach the hook to the end of the pole. Extend the pole down into the pit, hook the key, and lift it out.
Alternative: Attach the board as a ramp angled into the pit and use Ultrahand to lift the key out alongside the board.
Room 3 — Platform Bridge
Available parts: 3 boards, 2 fans, 1 balloon Goal: Reach the altar platform across a large gap with no ground
Suggested build: Attach balloon to the top of one board (platform). Attach a fire source (torch from the wall) to the balloon to inflate it. Ride the rising balloon to the altar height, then glide to the platform.
Alternative: Fans on boards = motorized raft that crosses the gap at altitude if launched from a ramp.

Tips
- No single right answer: Taki-Ihaban accepts any solution that gets you from start to finish. Don't overthink it — if your build works, it's correct.
- Test before committing: Attach parts and test the build on solid ground before using it over the gap. Nothing is permanent — detach and rebuild as needed.
- Wheels + fan = cart: This combination appears in multiple Taki-Ihaban rooms. Mastering the wheeled fan-cart opens most builds in this shrine.
- Balloon needs fire: The balloon alone doesn't rise — it needs a heat source attached beneath its opening. The torch on the side wall is there for this purpose.
- Room 3 ramp approach: If you don't want to use the balloon, build a fan-board ramp (angled board with fans) and launch it like a ski jump toward the altar platform.
