Taunhiy Shrine — Midair Triumph

Location: Sky Islands, above Necluda / Faron region Ability Required: Ultrahand, Recall (optional) Difficulty: Medium — aerial construction and platforming

Overview

Taunhiy Shrine is set on a high Sky Island and requires you to navigate a series of aerial platforms using fans and gliders. You'll build fan-propelled gliders to cross wind gaps and use the currents around the shrine to stay airborne. One of the most visually dramatic Sky shrines.

Preparation

  • Paraglider required — you'll be catching air currents
  • Bring Arrow + Electric fusions if you struggle with the wind construct inside
  • Stamina Elixir helps for long gliding sections

Walkthrough

Reaching the Shrine

  1. The shrine is on a floating Sky Island platform accessible from a wind updraft geyser. Find the updraft, open your Paraglider, and ride it up to the island level.
  2. The shrine entrance is on the east face of the island.

Room 1 — Fan Glider Construction

  1. Inside, you'll find two flat wooden boards and two fans. Use Ultrahand to attach a fan to the back edge of one board, then a second fan for extra thrust.
  2. Ride the glider platform by standing on the board and activating the fans — the board propels forward across the gap to the next ledge.
  3. Alternatively: attach only one fan to the board, aim toward the landing ledge, and use your Paraglider to extend the flight as the fan runs out.

Room 2 — Vertical Wind Shaft

  1. A vertical wind shaft (no updraft initially) blocks forward progress. Find the switch plate on the side wall — step on it to activate the shaft's wind column.
  2. Stand in the center of the shaft and open your Paraglider to ride the updraft straight up to the next platform.

Room 3 — Final Fan Challenge

  1. The altar platform is separated by a gap with a fan mechanism but no board. You'll need to Recall a previously blown-away board that drifted to the far side.
  2. Use Recall on the floating board to pull it back, then quickly step on and ride it across before the Recall window expires.

Tips

  • Fan attachment point matters: Attach the fan to the very back edge of the board, not the middle — this gives the most stable forward thrust.
  • Two fans > one: Double-fan boards travel faster and more reliably across gaps. Always use all available fans.
  • Paraglider as backup: If your fan board loses speed mid-gap, jump off and glide — don't ride a stalling board into the void.
  • Wind shaft timing: Don't fight the wind shaft. Once it activates, step in immediately — the window is short and the wind is strong enough to launch you all the way to the top.
  • Stamina management: Sky shrines often require multiple glides in sequence. Eat a Stamella Shroom or Energizing Elixir before extended platforming sections.
