Spirit Temple Complete Walkthrough: Mineru's Mech and Seized Construct Boss
The Spirit Temple is the most complex and story-significant temple in Tears of the Kingdom. Unlike the other four temples, it's located in the Depths and requires significant preparation to reach. It culminates in the revelation of Mineru's true nature and a fight against the Seized Construct. This guide covers the full walkthrough.
Prerequisites
The Spirit Temple requires completing the four other temples first — Mineru's quest does not become accessible until all other Sages are found. After completing Wind, Water, Fire, and Lightning temples, return to Lookout Landing for updated story direction.
Getting to the Spirit Temple
- The Spirit Temple is in the Depths, directly below the Gerudo Desert area
- Drop into the Depths from the Gerudo Canyon or descend from the surface Gerudo area
- Navigate to the "Abandoned Gerudo Mine" area in the Depths
- Activate the Lightroots to illuminate the path — the temple is surrounded by Gloom
- The temple structure is a massive intact Zonai construct unlike anything on the surface
Preparation checklist:
- Sundelion supply (for Gloom heart recovery — Depths has maximum Gloom density)
- Full-heal food (Hearty Durian meals)
- 30+ bomb arrows
- High-attack weapon with Gibdo Bone or Dragon Horn fuse
Temple Mechanic: Mineru's Mech
Before entering the Spirit Temple, you assemble Mineru's Construct (the mech) by collecting its scattered parts from the surrounding Depths area. The mech provides:
- Immunity to Gloom while riding
- Ability to equip Zonai devices to its arms for combat
- Ultrahand from a higher elevation
- Sage ability (Spirit): channel attacks through the mech arms
The mech's four parts are scattered around the temple area in protected locations. Collect all four before attempting the interior.
The Five Spirit Locks
Lock 1 — Construct Arm Assembly
Solution: Use Ultrahand to attach the missing arm component to the statue in the first chamber. Mineru's mech-building mechanic is introduced here as a tutorial for the full assembly outside.
Lock 2 — Gloom Flow Control
Solution: A river of Gloom blocks the passage. Mineru's Construct is immune — ride through while using the mech's Sage ability to channel power at the lock switch through the Gloom.
Lock 3 — Multi-Arm Rotation Puzzle
Solution: Several construct arms need to rotate in a specific sequence. Use Ultrahand to rotate each arm to the correct angle — the correct positions align glowing joints that form a circuit.
Lock 4 — Construct Mirror Maze
Solution: Construct mirror panels need to redirect a light beam to a lock crystal. Use Ultrahand to position each panel. The beam must travel through 4 reflections to reach the crystal. Adjust each mirror incrementally.
Lock 5 — Central Power Core
Solution: The final lock requires Mineru's mech to directly channel power into the core. Call Mineru's ability (the Sage summon button) while standing at the core connection point. The mech arms extend and deliver the final power charge.
Seized Construct Boss Fight
The Seized Construct is a corrupted version of Mineru's own mech, taken over by Gloom energy. It uses the same arm-based attack patterns as Mineru's Construct but with Gloom-enhanced moves.
Phase 1: The Seized Construct fires arm-projectiles. Dodge (perfect dodge timing triggers Flurry Rush) or use the Mech to block with Mineru's shield ability. Target the glowing blue-to-red weak points on the chest core.
Phase 2 (below 50% HP): The Construct detaches its arms and sends them as independent projectiles. Recall individual arms to redirect them back at the Construct for bonus damage. This is the most mechanically interesting phase.
Phase 3 (below 25% HP): The Construct combines all arms into a single overhead smash attack. The tell is a full arm-raise animation. Dodge to the side and hit the exposed core immediately during recovery.
Optimal strategy: Equip the highest-attack weapon available. During Phase 2, prioritize using Recall on thrown arms — each redirected arm deals significant damage. End Phase 3 quickly with burst attacks on the exposed core.
Rewards
- Mineru joins as permanent Sage: Her Construct ability unlocks — the mech can be called and ridden in specific locations
- Heart Container or Stamina Vessel
- Access to the Depths central area: Completing the Spirit Temple unlocks the path to Hyrule Castle Depths
Tips
- Bring 40+ Sundelions specifically for this area — Gloom-damaged max hearts must be restored with cooked Sundelion food
- The Seized Construct is immune to elemental damage — physical attacks only
- Mineru's mech provides Gloom immunity while riding, making Phase 2 and 3 safer
- After completing the temple, the path to the Hyrule Castle Depths opens for the final push to Ganondorf
