Stables Guide — All 12 Stables & Their Services

Stables are the hub network of Hyrule — fast travel targets, horse storage, cooking pots, item shops, and quest boards all in one location. There are 12 stables spread across Hyrule, and each one unlocks additional services when you complete the Stable Trotters side adventure chain. This guide covers every stable and what it offers.

Why Visit Every Stable

  1. Fast travel point — each stable is a natural early fast travel target before you unlock nearby shrines
  2. Horse storage — register horses and recall them from any stable
  3. Cooking pot — every stable has a cooking pot for field meals
  4. Inn/bed — sleep to advance time and restore hearts (inn costs rupees; some have extra Endura bonuses from Woodland Stable)
  5. Vendor — most stables sell arrows, basic food items, and occasional armor pieces
  6. Pony Points — accumulate points by stabling horses for rewards

Stable Trotters — Side Quest Chain

Stable Trotters is a major side adventure chain that rewards the Trotting Style horse ability and unlocks special services at stables.

The Quest

A traveling musical group (the Stable Trotters) has scattered across Hyrule. Each musician is stuck at or near a different stable — reunite them all.

Start: Talk to Mastro at any stable where a musician is present — he explains the goal.

Musicians to find:

| Musician | Instrument | Stable Area | |---------|----------|------------| | Mastro | Conductor | Multiple stables | | Pyper | Flute | Dueling Peaks area | | Karson | Drums | Wetland Stable area | | Addison (support NPC) | Various | Multiple locations (not musicians) | | Additional musicians | Various instruments | Other stable regions |

Reward upon completion:

  • Trotting Style ability for horses (upgraded horse handling)
  • Special music plays at all stables
  • Extended Stable Trotters performances (ambient music in each stable)

Side Quest Value

Beyond the aesthetic reward, completing Stable Trotters:

  • Forces you to visit nearly all 12 stables (completing your fast travel grid)
  • Triggers additional side quests at each stable from other NPCs
  • Counts toward the full Side Adventures completion log

Pony Points System

Every time you stable a horse or board a horse, you earn Pony Points. Accumulate points for rewards from the stable master:

| Points | Reward | |--------|--------| | 10 | Horse Gear (saddle or bridle cosmetic) | | 50 | Horse Armor (protective gear) | | 100 | Special cosmetic saddle (Golden variant) | | 200 | Ultimate Horse Gear unlock |

Fastest Pony Point farming: Board and unboard your registered horse repeatedly at a single stable — each transaction earns points. 10 minutes at one stable can get you to the 50-point reward.

What to Buy at Stables

Most stable vendors sell:

  • Arrows (10–15 per visit) — always buy to maintain stock
  • Food ingredients (Spicy Pepper, standard vegetables)
  • Occasional armor — some stables sell region-appropriate armor (Snowquill components near Snowfield Stable, etc.)
  • Shield (basic wooden shield) — cheap backup shield

Best stable purchases:

  • Arrows every visit (essential)
  • Cold resistance food near northern stables before entering Hebra
  • Flamebreaker component (if selling near Eldin) before Death Mountain

Quick Tips

  • Visit every stable early — they're consistently placed near main story routes; hitting all 12 in the first half of the game gives you a strong fast travel grid
  • Horse storage tip: Register your best horse immediately — if your horse dies in the field, you lose it. Registered horses are permanently stored.
  • Malanya spring: After completing the main horse content, Malanya (Horse God) can revive dead horses. She's not a stable, but her spring connects to the stable network.
  • Cooking pot timing: The stable cooking pot is next to an inn — cook your pre-boss meals here, then sleep for Blood Moon timing if needed
  • Stable as planning hub: NPCs at stables often give tips about nearby shrines, caves, and quests — talk to everyone when first visiting
