Skyview Towers Guide — All 15 Locations

Skyview Towers are the 15 map-revealing pillars spread across Hyrule. Each tower activated:

  1. Reveals a map section — shows terrain, landmarks, and shrine locations
  2. Launches Link high into the air — for sky island access
  3. Creates a fast travel point at the tower base

Activating all 15 towers is the single highest-priority early game task. Every tower reveals sky islands above it and enables exploration of a full map region. This guide covers all 15 locations and unlock requirements.

How Skyview Towers Work

  1. Approach the tower — find the stone spire in the region
  2. Insert the Purah Pad — interact with the terminal at the base
  3. Data uploads — the map section updates with terrain data
  4. Launch — Link is ejected upward at high speed; deploy Paraglider at apex
  5. Sky island access — from the apex, glide toward nearby sky island clusters

Most towers activate immediately. Some require solving a minor puzzle or dealing with an obstacle first.

All 15 Skyview Towers

1. Lookout Landing Skyview Tower (Central Hyrule)

Where: At Lookout Landing — the central military post, first place you visit in the game Unlock requirement: Complete Purah's quest line in the opening story sequence Sky access: Central Hyrule sky islands, Great Sky Island approach Notes: The first tower you unlock — triggers the main story chain.

2. Hyrule Ridge Skyview Tower (Hyrule Ridge)

Where: On the ridge between Hyrule Field and Tabantha, northwest of Lookout Landing Unlock requirement: The terminal is inside the tower but the door is obstructed. Use Ascend through the roof to access the terminal from above. Sky access: Hyrule Ridge sky islands, western sky archipelago approach

3. Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower (Eldin)

Where: South Eldin, lower volcanic foothills near Foothill Stable Unlock requirement: The launch mechanism is blocked by mud. Destroy the mud blockage (bomb arrow or direct attack) to clear the launch pipe. Sky access: Eldin sky islands, lower volcanic sky cluster

4. Eldin Mountains Skyview Tower (Deep Eldin)

Where: Higher in Eldin, northeast of Eldin Canyon tower Unlock requirement: Activate directly — no puzzle. Cold resistance not required at this altitude. Sky access: North Eldin sky archipelago (includes Igneo Talus Titan location) Hazard: Requires flamebreaker or fire-resistant food approaching from Death Mountain side.

5. Akkala Skyview Tower (Akkala)

Where: Far northeast Akkala region, near the coastline Unlock requirement: The tower interior has a terminal behind a locked door. Find the key in the nearby building — use Ultrahand to lift the broken beam blocking the key chest. Sky access: Akkala sky archipelago (includes Valor Island glide challenge)

6. Lanayru Skyview Tower (Lanayru)

Where: East Lanayru, southeast of Zora's Domain Unlock requirement: Activate directly — no obstacle. Sky access: Lanayru sky islands (includes Courage Island glide challenge)

7. Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower (High Lanayru)

Where: On Mount Lanayru, the tall mountain above Zora's Domain Unlock requirement: Cold resistance required for the climb (Snowquill Armor or cold-resist meals). No puzzle at the terminal itself. Sky access: High Lanayru sky islands, dragon encounter zones

8. Necluda Skyview Tower (Necluda)

Where: East Necluda, south of Zora's Domain approach — near Dueling Peaks area Unlock requirement: Activate directly. Common first-pass tower for eastern exploration. Sky access: Necluda sky islands, coastal sky area

9. Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower (Faron)

Where: Faron region, in the wetlands southeast of Lake Hylia Unlock requirement: The tower is surrounded by thorny brambles that block the entrance. Burn the brambles with fire (flame arrow, fire fruit, or a campfire-adjacent approach). Sky access: Faron sky islands, Farosh flight path regions

10. Popla Foothills Skyview Tower (South Faron)

Where: Southern Faron, the foothills east of the Gerudo border Unlock requirement: The launch tube is blocked by a cage. Find the handle mechanism and use Ultrahand to open it. A Yiga Clan member nearby may interfere. Sky access: South Faron sky islands, Gerudo sky approach from east

11. Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower (Gerudo Desert)

Where: Gerudo Canyon, approaching the desert from the east Unlock requirement: The tower has a broken terminal — locate the power component scattered nearby and use Ultrahand to restore it to the terminal slot. Sky access: Northern Gerudo sky islands

12. Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower (Gerudo Highlands)

Where: High Gerudo plateau, southwest Hyrule Unlock requirement: Cold + altitude — bring cold resistance. The highlands require Snowquill or cold meals at night. No puzzle at the terminal. Sky access: South Lomei Labyrinth sky island, Bravery Island glide challenge, Gerudo sky clusters

13. Tabantha Frontier Skyview Tower (Tabantha)

Where: Tabantha region, east of Rito Village Unlock requirement: Activate directly — no obstacle. Common early-game tower for Rito Village access. Sky access: Tabantha sky islands, southern Hebra sky

14. Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower (Hebra)

Where: Hebra Mountains, central north Unlock requirement: The tower is frozen solid — must be thawed. Use fire (fire arrows or fire fruit) to melt the ice blockade around the terminal. Sky access: Hebra sky islands, North Lomei Labyrinth approach

15. Rospro Pass Skyview Tower (Far Hebra)

Where: Far northwest Hebra, near the coast — the most remote tower Unlock requirement: Cold resistance required (extreme altitude and northwest exposure). No puzzle. Sky access: Far northwest sky islands, Hebra sky archipelago

Efficient Tower Activation Order

You don't need to visit towers in any specific order — each is accessible from the start. But the most efficient early-game circuit:

Priority 1 (first day): Lookout Landing → Hyrule Ridge → Eldin Canyon → Lanayru These 4 cover central Hyrule and give you map data for the main story temples.

Priority 2 (after first temple): Akkala → Mount Lanayru → Necluda → Faron towers Covers eastern Hyrule. East side has dense shrine and quest content.

Priority 3 (mid-game): Gerudo Canyon → Gerudo Highlands → Tabantha These require either combat preparation (Gerudo) or special equipment (Highlands cold).

Priority 4 (late-game sweep): Hebra towers × 2 Far north. Requires cold resistance and Tulin's Gust for extended sky island reach.

Tower Launch vs. Hoverbike

Once you have the hoverbike blueprint (Autobuild), it can reach any sky island without tower limitations. However, towers still provide:

  • Free height without battery cost
  • Fast travel point at the tower base
  • Map reveal that doesn't happen from hoverbike flight

Always activate all 15 towers — hoverbike doesn't replace them. The map reveal alone is worth the activation cost.

What Sky Islands Each Tower Reveals

Activating a tower reveals all sky islands in its column from the surface to maximum altitude. Check your map after each tower activation — orange glowing dots at sky level indicate sky island clusters nearby.

Sky islands not revealed by any tower: rare, usually very high altitude. Use hoverbike to find these after all 15 towers are active.
