Best Fuse Combinations Tier List — Tears of the Kingdom
Fuse lets Link attach almost any material to weapons, shields, and arrows — dramatically changing their damage output, special effects, and durability. The right Fuse combination can turn a weak Bokoblin Club into one of the most powerful weapons in the game. This tier list ranks the best Fuse materials from S-tier (essential) to D-tier (skip).
How Fuse Attack Bonus Works
When you Fuse a material to a weapon, the material's Fuse Attack Power is added to the base weapon attack. The formula:
Total Attack = Base Weapon Attack + Fuse Material Attack Bonus
A Royal Broadsword (38 base) + Silver Lynel Saber Horn (55 Fuse bonus) = 93 attack one-handed sword — one of the strongest setups in the game.
Important: Some materials provide bonus effects beyond raw attack (burn, electric, freeze). These stack with the Fuse attack bonus.
S-Tier Fuse Materials (Use Always)
Silver Lynel Saber Horn
Fuse Attack Bonus: +55 Effect: None (pure damage) Source: Silver Lynels (overworld, 4+ per Blood Moon cycle)
The highest Fuse attack bonus of any readily farmable material. Attaches to any one-handed or two-handed weapon. A Silver Lynel Saber Horn on a Royal Claymore creates a 93-attack two-hander — the maximum pre-endgame damage.
Best on: Royal Claymore, Eightfold Longblade, Soldier's Broadsword Verdict: Farm 10+ per session. Use them liberally — Silver Lynels respawn every Blood Moon.
Silver Lynel Mace Horn
Fuse Attack Bonus: +45 Effect: None (pure damage) Source: Silver Lynels (White-maned variant drops Mace Horn)
Slightly lower than Saber Horn but still S-tier. Particularly useful on spears where the +45 compounds with spear's attack-speed advantage.
Best on: Zonaite Spear, Knight's Halberd, Dragonbone Boko Spear Verdict: Second-best pure damage Fuse material.
Gleeok Flame/Frost/Thunder Horn
Fuse Attack Bonus: +45 Effect: Elemental damage (fire/ice/shock) on hit — AoE burst on impact Source: Gleeok bosses (regional variants)
The best elemental Fuse materials. Each horn adds +45 attack PLUS its element's on-hit effect. The Thunder Horn applies shock to enemies and creates a chain lightning effect between wet enemies.
Best on: Knight's Sword (Thunder Horn), Great Flameblade (Flame Horn — double fire), Ice weapons + Frost Horn Verdict: Best elemental Fuse in the game. Every element has a use case.
Lynel Saber Horn (Regular)
Fuse Attack Bonus: +36 Effect: None Source: Red/Blue/White Lynels
Excellent for mid-game — available earlier than Silver variants. +36 is still top-tier when combined with Royal-grade base weapons.
Best on: Knight's Broadsword, Soldier's Broadsword, early game weapons Verdict: S-tier for mid-game, gets replaced by Silver horn in late game.
A-Tier Fuse Materials (Excellent, Use Freely)
Black Hinox Toenail
Fuse Attack Bonus: +34 Effect: None Source: Black Hinox (overworld, multiple spawn points)
Highest bonus from a non-Lynel enemy drop. Easier to farm than Lynel horns. Black Hinox respawn every Blood Moon.
Best on: Two-handed weapons, spears Verdict: Best non-Lynel Fuse material. Excellent for weapons you want to save Silver horns for.
Gibdo Bone
Fuse Attack Bonus: +27 Effect: None Source: Gibdo enemies (Lightning Temple, Gerudo Desert surface spawns)
Underrated — +27 is significant and Gibdos are easier than Lynels. Good for maintaining a deep weapon inventory without spending Silver horns.
Best on: Any weapon, particularly ones you use casually Verdict: Best non-Hinox A-tier option. Farm Gerudo Desert Gibdos between Lynel runs.
Frox Fang
Fuse Attack Bonus: +30 Effect: None Source: Frox bosses in The Depths
Good Fuse bonus from a farmable Depths boss. Frox respawn on Blood Moon — 4+ fang drops per run.
Best on: Mid-to-late game melee weapons Verdict: Excellent Depths farming integration. Use when Lynel horns are depleted.
Dragon Horn Shard (Any Dragon)
Fuse Attack Bonus: +25 (Light Dragon: +36) Effect: Applies dragon element on hit (fire/ice/shock/light) Source: Dragon parts collected from dragon bodies
Dragon Horn Shards provide moderate attack plus consistent elemental application. Light Dragon's Horn Shard applies Light damage — unique to this source, deals extra damage to Gloom enemies and Phantom Ganon.
Best on: Swords for consistent elemental hits, Light Dragon shard on any weapon vs Gloom bosses Verdict: A-tier for elemental utility, S-tier for Gloom boss fights (Light Horn).
B-Tier Fuse Materials (Good Situationally)
Blue-White Chu Jelly
Fuse Attack Bonus: +15 Effect: Applies ice/electric damage on hit Source: Blue ChuChu and White ChuChu
Lower attack bonus but the elemental effect freezes or shocks on hit. Useful for crowd control when you have a weapon you don't want to "waste" a high-value horn on.
Best on: Secondary weapons for crowd control Verdict: B-tier — functional but outclassed by Gleeok horns for serious combat.
Stone Talus Heart
Fuse Attack Bonus: +28 Effect: Deals bonus damage to ore deposits (mining bonus) Source: Stone Talus boss drops
The best mining tool in the game. Fuse a Talus Heart to a two-handed hammer and hit ore deposits for 3x the normal ore yield per strike. Not ideal for combat but transforms mining efficiency.
Best on: Iron Sledgehammer, Goron Maul — dedicated mining weapon Verdict: B-tier for combat, S-tier for ore farming. Keep one mining weapon in inventory permanently.
Soldier Construct IV Horn
Fuse Attack Bonus: +22 Effect: None Source: Soldier Construct IV enemies (Depths camps)
The best Depths-enemy Fuse material before Frox Fangs become available. Solid mid-game option.
Best on: Mid-game weapons before Hinox/Lynel farming unlocks Verdict: B-tier — functional bridge material.
C-Tier Fuse Materials (Use If Nothing Better)
Bokoblin Horn
Fuse Attack Bonus: +7 Effect: None Source: Bokoblin enemies (everywhere)
Very low attack bonus. Only useful very early when better materials aren't available.
Best on: Weak starter weapons — don't waste it on anything decent Verdict: C-tier. Replace immediately with anything from B-tier upward.
Red Chuchu Jelly
Fuse Attack Bonus: +5 Effect: Fire damage on hit Source: Red ChuChu
Extremely low bonus. The fire effect is nice but the damage trade-off makes it rarely worth using over proper B-tier materials.
Best on: Arrow tips (fire arrows are useful) — not weapon Fusing Verdict: C-tier for weapons. Better used as crafted arrow ammunition.
D-Tier Fuse Materials (Avoid for Weapons)
Bomb Flower
Fuse Attack Bonus: +N/A (explosion only) Effect: Detonates on weapon impact — destroys the weapon faster Source: Caves, sky islands, enemy camps
Fusing a Bomb Flower to a weapon causes an explosion on hit — sounds good, doesn't work. The explosion damages Link and destroys the weapon faster. Better used as arrow tips.
Best on: Arrows only (Bomb Arrows) — never weapon Fuse Verdict: D-tier for weapons, S-tier for arrows. Never Fuse to melee weapons.
Food Items (Apples, Berries, etc.)
Fuse Attack Bonus: +1 to +3 Effect: None meaningful Source: Trees, shrubs, everywhere
Consumable food items have essentially zero Fuse value. You'll see players Fuse an apple early — understand it's a placeholder, not a strategy.
Best on: Nothing — eat them Verdict: D-tier. Waste of the Fuse slot.
