Ekochiu Lightroot (anagram of Uihoce Shrine) sits at the Eldin-Akkala volcanic border in the eastern Depths, anchoring a Zonai-engineered causeway network that spans an otherwise impassable lava channel field. The Zonai built four stone causeways across the channels: two remain intact, one is partially collapsed (navigable with precise platforming), and one is fully submerged by risen lava levels. The intact causeways are heat-treated stone that glows faintly orange from absorbed thermal energy — they are safe to walk but the lava channels beneath fluctuate in height, and at peak levels the causeways are splashed from below, dealing fire damage to anyone standing on the outer sections. Crossing timing cycles are roughly 45-second intervals of splashing followed by 30-second calm. A Zonai construction camp on the far side of the second causeway is still partly functional: a Zonai forge remains active and can be used to process ore, and a locked Zonai chest at the camp requires a small Construct to open (one Construct still patrols the camp on its original maintenance circuit). Ore deposits: Ruby clusters are embedded in the causeway stones themselves — harvesting while crossing is possible during the 30-second calm windows.
