Muokuij Lightroot
About This Lightroot
Muokuij is among the deepest and most remote lightroots in the Gerudo underground, corresponding to Jiokuom Shrine deep in the Western Gerudo region above. The cavern here is staggeringly wide — 400+ meters across — and filled with fine sand that shifts underfoot and reduces movement speed. Even after the lightroot activates, the sand mist reduces visibility to roughly 60 meters in any direction, creating an oppressive navigational challenge. Molduga-equivalent Depths variants (Moldugas adapted to underground) patrol the sandy floor in predictable oval circuits — their underground movement is detectable by the sand-ripple effect 15 meters ahead of them. A Bargainer Statue stands in a sheltered alcove on the northern wall — one of only three in the entire Gerudo Depths — making this lightroot a priority for Poe spending even though the journey here is difficult. Chain navigation: approach via the Stakijat Lightroot corridor to the northeast. Ancient Gerudo-script ruin complexes along the eastern wall contain sealed chests with mid-grade gear. Armor recommendation: Depths set for Gloom resistance; the sand itself does not cause damage, but Gibdo colonies near the ruins do.
