About This Lightroot
Located directly beneath Hyrule Castle in the Central Depths, Nisoij corresponds to the Jiosin Shrine inside the castle grounds above. This is one of the most dangerous lightroots to activate — the surrounding 200-meter radius is saturated with Gloom at density levels found nowhere else in the game. Gloom pools cover 40% of the cave floor, making safe footing a constant navigation puzzle. Phantom Ganon variants patrol the outer ring and will intercept players approaching from any direction except the single clean stone path running from the Kamizun Lightroot to the southeast. Chain navigation: approach via Kamizun Lightroot → follow the stone road north, hugging the eastern wall to avoid the densest Gloom pools. The Royal Guard weapon cache near the lightroot base contains respawning Royal Guard Claymores and Royal Guard Shields — among the best-stat weapons available before fighting Silver enemies. Armor recommendation: full Depths Gloom-resist set is essential here. Even brief floor contact with the Gloom pools seals hearts faster than anywhere else in the Depths.
