About This Lightroot

Onatakak is the southernmost Faron Depths lightroot, corresponding to Kakataon Shrine near the Faron coast on the surface. At this extreme southern depth the cave structure becomes more irregular — the southern boundary wall is rough, unfinished bedrock with no Zonai road infrastructure, suggesting this area was never formally accessed by ancient civilization. The Gloom density here is significant: the pools form an irregular maze pattern rather than the cleaner coverage found elsewhere, and stepping between pools requires constant attention to safe footing. Three separate Gloom Hands spawn points activate sequentially as players approach — one 150 meters out, one 80 meters out, and one 30 meters directly east of the lightroot. Bring 5+ Sunny Meals and 20+ Bomb Flower arrows. Approach from Mimufis Lightroot to the northwest using the elevated root structures to stay above Gloom pool level wherever possible. Despite the danger, a Sunshroom cluster near the southern wall provides emergency Gloom recovery for players caught without meals.
